Well done on the videos, I have got to get into Recorder more. I used to fly a very basic flight sim (Ysflight) that has an automated recorded flight feature. Easy to do one of my favs, the Heritage flights with a P-51, A-10, F-22, F-16.
The break looked very realistic regardless of model used!

Guys, can you tell me what is the easier way to make the speed same? Like Mike's video, it shows the same speed on each aircraft when flying.

To make the "master" recording, the #1 aircraft which I flew formation off of, I used a very good, stable model (the freeware Iris T-45 with an FDE upgrade) that has a good stable autopilot AND autothrottle control. I set the autothrottle to 350 kts shortly after takeoff and leave it there until just before peeling off into the break. That way I know at least one aircraft in the formation will be relatively constant. I also used the autopilot to have it hold its altitude, that is a huge help.

Wow, that was a huge help!

Thanks Mike!

Yea that's the Iris/DSB Harrier. It's actually one of the RAF GR models in a USMC scheme since they didn't make an AV-8B version.
An interesting fact about that particular model is that it's about 25% too large. It's a payware aircraft and they didn't even get the dimensions correct or even close for that matter!
Put that model next to one of the NBAI Harriers (which are the correct size) and you'll see what I mean.
Other than that, I like flying it, it actually does the STOVL bit better than any of the other Harrier models out there.

What I'm thinking is that we could have an entire collection of "base" recordings that we could share amongst ourselves. Using this example, anyone could download the 4 recordings that I made and voila, you now have your own pre-programed up to 4 aircraft performing an overhead break for 21R at Nellis. Using the settings in Recorder, you can make the aircraft anything you have in your setup (user aircraft have a higher FPS impact however). You can also play the file at any time of the day, any weather conditions. You can also set the file to start at a certain point and continually loop the playback from that point.
With some experimentation, you could then produce a set of aircraft that fly an overhead break every 10 minutes for example. You can turn this feature on and off with a click of the mouse.
What I've yet to try is to load up a decent amount of real AI traffic and then play the recording back. I'll try that today.
Essentially FS Recorder gives you the same opportunities to fly with and around other aircraft that you would also experience in online multiplayer ops. But with FS Recorder, you do not need to be involved in online operations. Additionally, you can generate the flights whenever you want to at your convenience and not have to coordinate your actions with people from around the net.
Some of the things that would be possible:
-Set up pre-programmed tanker flights that fly real world tanker holding patterns. When you are out flying around in a given area and need your fuel, simply load up your tanker flight and go get your gas.
-Set up ground based targets that actually move along the ground, convoys, tank colums, etc. All could be recorded and cued up at your choosing.
-Set up aggressor aircraft that fly realistic flight patterns and even conduct mock dogfights. Again you could set these aircraft up in a given area and simply load them up when you want to fight.
I could go on and on but this really could (IMO) be an entirely new type of traffic that would be especially useful for military FS fans.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this??
Expanding this thought process I see this as a way to introduce another form of "traffic" into your sim experience. This traffic would be not be true AI because it would not be part of the actual AI engine. Therefore conflicts would happen and only careful timing would prevent unrealistic scenarios if you were using AI traffic at the same time.

Dale I got it at one of the online FS shopping sites. I can't for the life of me remember which on right now, I remember what it looks like but I can't seem to find it just yet. Let me look around the net.
Technically it's the Iris/Sigma Harrier.
Edit I think it was at Simmarket but I don't see it there.

It has been one of those models that has mysteriously vanished from FS world. Some talk on the Iris forums a year ago of releasing the model as freeware but nothing came of that. I use the free version of the UKMil/Alphasim GR.9/AV-8 or the AP GR.7.

Maybe cause they realized it was not the correct scale.....
