The continuing story of the AI helicopters in FSX

Post by F70 »

Hello to all,

I have posted a message some time a go where my heli's don't wanna land see : http://www.militaryaiworks.com/newforum ... =1&t=10062
If you read the story you can see that the solution was simple,if you know it.

The next problem is now the heli's don't wanna take-off,not real true,i tell you my story.
I stand by the runway and watch the helicopters.
The flight plan start on 09:00.
I stay there on 08:59,the first heli start on 09:00 and taxi to the runway.
The ATC say : clear for take-off and here we go.
The second heli start on 09:03 and clear for take-off and every three minute a other on,all nine helicopters are gone,so far so good.

Are you still reading, now the problem. :?
When I start FSX,for example the other day and then choose the last flight and it is about 09:14 then have i a three or four heli's taxi to the runway.
The ATC say to the first on : Line up and clear for take off
To the second one : Hold position heli on the runway.
If the first heli is airborne the ATC say to the second heli : Line up and wait.
And the heli line up and wait and wait and.................................till the five minutes have passed, and poeff gone is the heli.
The third one line up and take off,the fourth on line up and,you know it,he is waiting and waiting and................after five minutes, poeff gone.

You recognize this and there is may be an answer.

I hope you understand my story.

Jan you may have to increase your AI helicopter's radius value, or in FSX I think it's the wingspan value.

IIRC this happens when the radius/wingspan value is small and the following AI aircraft does not respect that cylinder for ground separation purposes.

I could be wrong about this though, but we have seen this before with our AI helicopters.
