ADE files - where?

Post by Stewart Pearson »

Guys, I am experiencing mega CTD's which appear to be related to airports constructed using ADE.

Where and how do you fellas have these files situated in Fs9?

Thanks
Stew

I've been using ADE9 for a long time now and never had its files causing a crash...

You can save the project file anywhere you want. The compiled bgl file goes where any other AFD would go: in the Addon Scenery\scenery folder or the scenery subfolder of a custom scenery (e.g. Addon Scenery\MAIW Belgium Scenery\Scenery).

The files can go anywhere you would put an AFCAD or an AFX file, Stew.
The one difference I can immediately think of is the height change bgl, which goes in your \Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\scenery folder with the flightplans.
Which base(s) are causing you the grief?

Not any one specific mate. You have hit me with a probable cause though. Which is the height change bgl?

Providing it hasn't been renamed, it should look like KJFK_ADE9_xx_ALT (where xx are the initials of the person who made it). The few I have in my FSX are in the scenery/world/scenery folder/

Thanks, I'll check for these.

I suspect that it may be the result of FS Genesis mesh which I have installed.

If it started happening after FSG was installed it might be that one of the textures didn't install properly. Try de-installing and re-installing.

Stewart, I do not know if you are still having problems. This might help: http://www.interkultur.de/gossmann/fsx/tools.php Go down to ADE9X Environment Checker.
