FSDS Night Lights

Using XP w/SP3, FSDS 3.5.1, and FS2004. I created a hanger following your tutorial. But alas, I decided to add a feature not included. I want to have a light that would come on during the dusk_night hours and reflect off a aircraft or vehicle.
Searching the internet, I find many tutorials for FSDS and FSX. And something called FSTweakX, I think.
There are still many FS2004 users still around. Is there a way to make this feature work in FS9? I am completely computer illiterate when it comes to something called creating "attach points" and so forth.
I have a older version of FSDS 2.0. But during installation, I get this error message: Direct X error(887602f8) Render target buffer lost. No idea what that means. So, I cannot use the older version that had the _LM night feature included.
That just made it too easy.
Could you shed some light on this for me? No pun intended!!
Thank you
