New Airfield Not Showing Traffic

Post by tg13 »

Good morning all,on the scrounge for some technical help please.I'm using UK2000 RAF Valley, which using the AFCAD programme i've created all the correct areas of parking for your excellant Hawk package.I went one step further for your Sea King package by creating my own airfield, once again using AFCAD to locate it in the correct position for use with Valley UK2000.I renamed it EG1V,created a runway, hold horts, starting points, taxi ways, correct sized parking slots, comms, ran a check....NO FAULTS found...started FS 9 went to the active at EG1V,no Sea Kings???I had previously ammended the flightplans and added the new airfield to the airports list and recompiled them, and everything was fine, any ideas as to WHY the Sea Kings are a no show please?

Generally we wouldn't answer a question about personal mods to a package of ours, however from what you write you seem to have covered the bases on the conversion so this could be construed as a learning situation.

I think that there could be a number of factors that maybe causing this so could you zip up your afcad and the text files that you used to create your new traffic file and attach them here.

I am sure that at least one curious person will look at your problem.

Hi tg13,

If you say you replaced all instances of "E1OV" with "EG1V" in the Airports.txt and Flightplans.txt file, then that should work. The problem will more likely be the AFD file in that case.

I am the original author of the AFD files in the UK Seakings package and would gladly have a look at your AFD if you want. Also post the flightplans like Steve said just to be sure.

Don't worry. This is a learning situation as Steve said. You will make many, many more mistakes if you start developing your own stuff for flight simulator and you will learn a lot from those mistakes.

Finding solutions to design problems can often be the most rewarding experiences in this hobby.
