I'm not a member of the staff, but I'm used to surprises. For example, if you look at the screenshots on the homepage you will see a RNZAF MB-339, and they have been retired some time ago!

Some people like retro, some people love retro and some people hate it.

Me personally, I like retro and use it to bring to life those closed bases. It is quite easy to keep the two things separate but I like to keep the flightplans away from live bases as well to ensure the minimum of disruption. I allow the odd overshoot but that's it. Traffic stays between closed bases.

Due to the nature of current equipment it can be difficult to for us to devote official resources to retro stuff but we don't block it. If something happens it happens, but we now have a large number of followers that produce their own quality add-on packages. this really helps. This week we released some A-4 models to add to our F-4 fleet. These alone should keep people going for some years.

Lets face it all of our releases will be retro eventually.

I think you should get started on making retro packages :)

Oh no, I don't get credit for dreaming up MAIW. I just built the initial site because these guys said they would build me military AI!
