I wouldn't be so sure of that just yet. Buying new build F-16s, especially ones with AESA would be the smartest thing the Congress has done in a long time.

Personally I think they should halve the number of F-35 purchases for the USAF and use that money to buy new F-16s. Probably could buy twice as many F-16s as F-35s with the same money.
