Problem with RAF Conongsby planes
Problem with RAF Conongsby planes
Hey guys, I have a problem with the planes at the RAF Coningsby AFB. Planes are invisible during the day and visible at dawn, dusk, and night. I am using the scenery from Justflight of the RAF Coningsby and planes from MAIW, please help.
Re: Problem with RAF Conongsby planes
Do you use FSX?

Yes I do. Why??
Re: Problem with RAF Conongsby planes
Well firstly we are predominantly an FS9 org but we will always try to help FSX users out but you have to let us know what system you use. Each system has it's own issues and quirks and we can spend several days going down a wrong path.
Secondly that problem sounded like an FSX only issue. I believe that it is something to do with an aircraft shadows issue within FSX settings. Whether its to do with FSX itself or DX10 preview mode or both I can't recall. I think that you have to switch off aircraft shadows.
Maybe an FSXer can be more precise here.

Ok, thanks, I will see what I can do, I use Windows Vista here.
Re: Problem with RAF Conongsby planes
I just found out, on regular scenery, the planes are visible at all times, but on Justflight scenery, the become invisible during the day and visible at all other times. Can someone please make a fix for this??
Re: Problem with RAF Conongsby planes
There is no fix for this that we can do. It is the way that FSX handles certain types of scenery, if I am right.
Have you tried switching off the aircraft shadows option to see if it fixes the issues you find.

OK as you are relatively new I will try to explain so that a torrent of abuse does not come your way.
The problem is the scenery, not the planes. We did not make the scenery so we can't fix it. It is that simple.
As I said before as I understand it some scenery not created specifically for FSX has this issue. The only way around this is to switch off the aircraft shadows to see if this is indeed the problem.
If it is, you have to either search for an update for that scenery, search for a replacement scenery, or live without the shadows.
So my advice would be to check to see if my guess about the problem is correct and then if it is search the Justflight site for a fix/update or ask in our FSX forums if anybody has/had this problem and what they did.
