RAFAT Hawks and Little Help

Post by Dinga69 »

Here's a preview of work so far - it's pretty much complete except one thing. Does anybody know which pilot has which aircraft allocated. ie The Boss, Sqn Ldr Jim Turner, Red 1, XX---. It's probably not that important as airframes do get swapped around, but with this info I can put the names of the pilot and techie on - a la the real thing (About 2pixels high!!). Also, this model is lovely to paint, but there are some minor limitations when it comes to painting the underside. And yes Tranquil - I've spotted the different crests on either side this time :P :P :P

Cheers Dale - The names are not that important, but the order is. There's a series of photo's on flickr of the Reds landing at Brize the other week, so I can allocate the flying 9/10 from this - there appears to be 3 spares to do to according to the Dutch Wings Database

Ok, after a bit of research I've got these done as they appeared at Volkel Airshow earlier this year. Each aircraft has the names applied and the correct serial for position. I'm using a tweaked version of Ray Parker's flightplan(for personal use) just now which uses 9 aircraft - anyone know of one that uses maybe two of the others - The Boss and Red 10 specifically. The model used is the Mk60 as this has enabled me to apply black aerials underneath without affecting the strakes and the wing fences. I've omitted the rear fuselage section of the lower arrow as this distorts just a bit too much for my liking, or impinges on the profile too much - it's not a bad compromise. Thanks Dale for pointing me in the right direction - I went from Scramble.nl via Fightercontrol. Here's apreview and upload to follow later.

I would just swap these for the ones Ray did a few years back. Sorry Ray :smt004

Zsolt - the readme gives instructions on how to get these flying, either with Ray's traffic file or search these forums and there's another lurking around which sends them around Europe! Remember to change Waddington to Scampton in the Traffic and Flightplan files!
