Keep afterburner on - possible?

Post by gsnde »

Is there a known trick to keep the afterburner active all the time for an AI aircraft? Thanks!
Cheers,
Martin

Martin,

If by active you mean always visible, I have never seen a simple trick for accomplishing this. There are both multiple delay times and lifetimes in an AI afterburner effect file, so I think unless you create an AI afterburner effect file with all of these times changed appropriately, you can't have the afterburner visible all the time, but then I am certainly no expert on this.

Why would you want the afterburner on all the time? Is this just for pics?
The reason I ask is that having an aircraft land in burner is a bit over the top. Only the Jag needed that (old RAF joke).

Yes, that would be only for pictures, Steve

If there is no trick maybe playing with the lifetime is the way to go, Mike.

Yep, that is the only way - unless you graft a non-ai fde onto it and fly it (so you can activate the burners when you like.)
