WEST COAST ANG AND FLIGHTZONE PORTLAND PARKING PROBLEM

Post by dk1213 »

I finally got my new hard drive, and I am extremely happy to be in the air again. I have a question about parking codes and AI behavior, as I am confused about the way MAIW F-15's are responding to Flightzone Portland scenery. This is an odd issue, apparently if you start the flight during the day at a MIL_Combat parking spot, all of the F-15's that are at KPDX park on the opposite side of the airport, in a business section of the airport where the lear jets and private aircraft park. I am using WOAI for traffic, and the aiport populates beautifully with all of the carriers at their properly assigned gates, other than the F-15's. It gets even stranger.

If you start the flight at dusk or at night, all of the F-15's move and park correctly where they should be on the ANG apron in front of the building with a huge sign that says "Portland Air National Guard" .... so does anyone know why this behavior would happen? I do not know much about parking codes or how the planes determine where to park, but if there is a solution that would allow the F-15's to park on the right side of the airport where they park at night, I would appreciate someone telling me how to do that Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with the scenery, but the quickest way to ensure that planes go where you want them is to open the AFCAD and see if the parking spaces where you want the F-15 to park have the proper parking codes for the F-15s. It may also require an edit to the radius of the parking spot as well (especially if you're using FSX). If the spots don't have the parking codes for the F-15s, then the game is probably assigning them to a spot with a smaller parking radius than on the military ramp. Usually the parking codes stop this behavior so long as the parking spot is large enough for the respective aircraft assigned to park there.

Try starting the flight at the exact same time, but in one of the GA spots. If the F-15s are back where they are supposed to be, it might be your flying model pushing them out. Also try switching to the default cessna or other small model and see if the F-15s come back.

Thanks guys, I will try that. Its great scenery, and it looks awesome when the eagles park in the right spots.
