Indian AF plans.

Post by Stewart Pearson »

Guys,

Sorry about this (old age). Some time back towards the end of 2013, I PM'd a member, asking if they would be able to do plans for the Indian Air Force C-130 and C-17 fleets based at Hindon (VIDX).

I'm afraid to say that I have forgotten who it was that I asked.

Can the kind person please put this old fool out of his misery and give a shout?

Don't think it was me, but if no-one volunteers I'll happily do them for you.

Please put me out of my misery.....

The C130 & C17 repaints aren't available anywhere are they?

I've hunted high and low thinking I'd missed them somewhere but to no avail.

Hi Jim,

Not available just yet - I'm hoping to release them as part of a package with the Hindon scenery. The way the IAF are going though, if I wait a wee while longer, there will be fewer to do......................C-130 fleet already down to five.

Hi Stew,
I was creating some FPs for the C17/C130s and did a quick VIDX airfield with parking to see if it worked.

Looking at GE and Bing, nothing "concrete!!" about where the C17s might be going, what's your guesstimate??

Hi Jim,

I'm about 25% along the way with Hindon. The Ramp at the East (Southside) where you see the C130's, I was going to use for the C17's. If you come further West, there's a ramp full of eggbeaters (Mi-8??) which I was going to allocate to the C130 fleet until we get a better idea when GE updates.

Sounds good to me.
Latest map seems to be the Yahoo Maps version.

Hi Jim,

Hadn't been back to GE on Hindon for a while, but this latest image seems to give us some clue;

Seems to be a bit of development going on Northside of runway. Perhaps a new apron etc being built. Might take a "flier" and park some Hercs over that way.

Depends how I feel when I get to that part. :smt005

A while back, I did some repaints of the C-130s and C-17s. The C-17 paints especially are not the greatest but will do for now. At the same time, I did some repaints of the A-50 and IL-78. I would definitely be willing to share, but I'm not comfortable uploading it just yet. I attached a couple small screenshots as a preview. Email me at dan.hult@gmail.com or reply to this post and I will email the file.
