Don't fret Gary, you are not alone.
I bought it too when it was first released to have as a backup for my installed FSX Acceleration version. Fortunately I haven't needed a backup so far, so I have never downloaded or installed it.

I got Steam also, the annoying thing is most of the SDK is not included with the steam version.
