USAF T51A Trainer/Cessna 150L

Post by col1948 »

I just did a repaint of the Cessna 150L, I think the USAF version is called a T51A but I'm sure you guys know best.

Forgive the wheel difference but it is as near as I could get it lol.

Nice,

Might I suggest using the model without the wheel skirts?

It's a T-41A Mescalero, now mostly replaced although a few remain on charge.

The T-41 Mescalero was a souped up Cessna 172 used by the USAF and eventually given to the Civil Air Patrol. We had one in my CAP Wing.
They were replaced by the T-76 Firefly, but they were dumped by the Air Force after a few fatalities.
I don't know what they are using now.
I like theT-51 paint scheme.

Correct on the T-41s, I flew these at Peterson AFB with the Aero Club, all ex-USAFA birds. They still use them and C-150's (T-51) for the precision flight team, but all training flights are using the SR-20 (T-53).
