KIAG - Niagara Falls IAP/ARS
KIAG - Niagara Falls IAP/ARS
I'm working on KIAG for FS9 and the first thing I always do when making an AFCAD is to get all the AI traffic available for that airport. I have the one civilian Airline (Myrtle Beach Direct Air) but can't find Mil flight plans for it. I found all the models that I need on AVSIM. So anybody know where I can find them?

Believe the only thing moved was the KC-135R to Bangor to replace their E models. C-130 Airlift and all the other reserve functions stayed. From Wikapedia & GlobalSecurity.org: The Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station was included in the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure recommendations issued by the Department of Defense on May 13, 2005. If the BRAC committee, the President, and Congress had approved all of the recommendations, it would have resulted in the closure of the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. However, due to a local grassroots campaign by families and associates of affected military personnel, coupled with a united political effort involving Republican and Democratic congressional representatives and other politicians including both US Senators from New York, the BRAC recommendation regarding this base was largely overturned and the base will remain open for the foreseeable future. The Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station is the last U.S. Air Force Installation in the State of New York and the largest federal facility in the region.

Military aircraft go to commercial airports all the time. For example I have seen military transports at Greater Rochester Int. many times. I doubt any aircraft at KIAG would have any reason to make a hop to KBUF anyways, that is such a short distance the only real reason to send a plane there would be for an airshow.

Aren't you a little fat to be a Stormtrooper?
Well cannot tell on the aircraft. However, a copyright 2007 New York GIS picture on google earth stills shows C-130's on the ramp. The NIAG ARS web site is still up and running. The base is used by NYANG, NYARNG, Coast Guard, AF Reserve, etc. etc. I think the base is still running. The tenent units? The 914th Airlift wing does not list any airlift squadron or group as a sub there.

I was at the Thunder of Niagara airshow on the 11th and I was in a 914th C130, and a 107th KC135. They are still there. There is also a fair amount of construction going on there.
