So as not to highjack another thread and take it off topic, I can't get my head round ADE175, I have used the old AFCAD program for FS9 no problem but this one has me slightly puzzled.
If I want to modify a default airfield for example add more parking or change a taxi route etc, when I compile and save it goes to a project.
Then when I look in the projects it is there but not as an afcad but a project, I played around with the saving options and I managed to get it to save both, but when I put the new afcad in AddonScenery/Scenery folder and start the sim nothing seems to have changed, it still shows the original airfield without the modification.
Also with ADE175, I tried to delete some taxiway signs, it said it did it in the program but again when in the sim nothing had changed.

Re: ADE175 Question.
Once you have made the modifications you require you need to compile the project into a bgl. Look under File and just below "Save Airport As" you will see "Compile Airport". This will bring up a small box with the compile options such as where to compile the bgl to and whether to compile seperate airport and object files.
Hope this helps

Re: ADE175 Question.
Hi Pete, Yes I did that and the file is in AddonScenery/Scenery folder, I changed a few of the parking spots to make them bigger to accommodate a few more cargo aircraft, not sure if it worked because they are still parking at a gate.
I changed the atc_parking_types= from CARGO to RAMP_CARGO but still no joy.
Also the other airport I wanted to delete the taxi signs still has them, the reason I wanted to delete them is a lot of them are in the middle of the taxiway (EGNR).

Re: ADE175 Question.
You need to make sure that the aircraft.cfg file entry for that particular aircraft has the correct parking type:
[fltsim.2]
title=FAIB B747-400F GE Qantas Freight N492MC opb GTI
sim=faib747-400fv6acof
model=FGE
texture=Qantas\N492MC
atc_id=N492MC
atc_airline=QANTAS
atc_flight_number=
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=B747-400F GE
ui_variation=Atlas Air
ui_createdby=FAIB
description=Boeing 747-400F GTI Atlas Air opf Qantas Cargo :: Repaint by Kyle Meeks
atc_parking_types=CARGO
atc_parking_codes=QFAC
atc_heavy=1
Ramp_Cargo is not an accepted entry if P3Dv4 the following is what may be used:
MIL_COMBAT
MIL_CARGO
RAMP
CARGO
GATE
DOCK
So I would find the aircrafts [fltsim.*] entry and make sure its suitable. May I suggest you use AIAE by Martin Gossmann to edit your aircraft.cfg files, I have found it to be an essential part of my Flightsim toolset.
For taxi signs appearing in the wrong place its usually caused when you are using a non-stock ADE file but the stock taxi signs are still present. If you select Tools/Load Stock Data, a box will come up, select taxi Signs and they will then show up. If you also select scenery objects I would first "File/Save Image" So that you can compare exactly where the stock items have been added.
Once the taxi signs are present then you can either re-position them or delete to your hearts content

Re: ADE175 Question.
Hi Pete, I had CARGO but I was advised on another thread to put RAMP_CARGO, but saying that CARGO didn't work either.

Re: ADE175 Question.
It may be RAMP_CARGO if you are using FSX but someone else who has FSX would need to confirm that as I never was able to get comfortable with it so never went very deep into FSX. You need to make sure the parking spots are big enough to take the AC you want to park there. I believe that the system works on Parking spot size first, then parking code and finally Parking Type. Hopefully one of the House experts will confirm this (or tell me to get back in my box
)

Re: ADE175 Question.
RAMP_CARGO is not accepted in FSX either. Forget RAMP_CARGO. In fact that system hasn't changed since FS9, except that you can have more than one type separated by a comma since FSX which you can't in FS9 (same for the codes).
Here's the ESP (=FSX) SDK.

Re: ADE175 Question.
With reference to aircraft parking in unintended spots.
I do remember having to assign parking codes to spots on an airline apron in order to force military aircraft to use the military ramp.
It would seem that if a parking is closer to the departure runway end and it is not allocated an airline code then the next aircraft to depart will use it.
