AIAE cannot open an .air file

Post by Jorgen »

I have downloaded Mike Pearson's RATS Il-86 model, converted for P3D, and after installing the aircraft, AIAE will not open its .air file.

AirEd opens the file OK.

The aircraft is available here: https://mpai4fs.com/category/64-bit-models/

What could be going on here?

Hi Jorgen.

You and me need to learn that we should watch and trust in what AIAE is saying

After a way too lengthy debug session where I was looking into special Cyrillic characters and hidden flags etc. I finally noticed, that AIAE was flashing a red error. It desperately tried to tell me that no air file could be found.

And that is because the aircraft.cfg is asking for "ai_rats_Il-86" while the air file name is "ai_rats_il86" without the dash.

Happy weekend!
Cheers,
Martin

Duh!

I have, unfortunately, made this mistake myself many more times than I care to remember, professionally as well as on my own time!

Cheers from cold Flensburg -
