While I think this is probably still in the realms of idle speculation, I think several of the current operators would welcome the opportunity to supplement or even replace their current C-17 fleets - it's an old aircraft now, and there's no replacement on the horizon. A C-17B with more modern engines and systems would probably sell very well.

I red that UK and India would like to order new C-17.
Morocco was also interested in C-17, when they didnt have Abrams tanks.
Today Morocco has around 400 Abrams tanks, many of them second hand (refurbished), so that the C-17 would make perfectly sence.

I agree with Tim. It wouldn't make much sense to just put the previous model back into production but one with updated avionics is one that might attract the USAF, and lets be honest that really is the only customer that would make it worthwhile restarting the line for.
