Took these pictures today with the family, the F-117A was put on display this last saturday.

F-117A 85-0816

F-15A 76-037
The 49th tactical fighter wing flew the F-15A from 1977-1992. Flew some of the first air superiority missions over the southern Iraqi no fly zone during operation southern watch.

AT-38B 60-576
This T-38 was the first to land at Holloman AFB in 1973, remained in service until 1991.

F-105D 61-145
In 1951, republic aviation began a project to develop a supersonic tactical fighter-bomber to replace the F-84F. The result was the F-105D Thunderchief, nicknamed the "Thud" Delivered to the Air Force on 27 April 1962. This F-105 served with the 49th Tactical Fighter Wing from 8 July 1962 until Dec. 1966 at Spangdahlem AB, Germany.

QF-106A 56-454
All weather interceptor was developed from the convair F-102 Delta Dagger. The first F-106A flew on 26 Dec. 1956. The Aircraft later returned to Holloman AFB in the 90's and served as targeting drone for detachment 1 82D ATS.

Nice photos, really nice display, the aircraft look amaizing, specially since they are i nthe outside, aircraft in display like that here on the southernmost part of the world usually don't last long in that conditions

actually the only palce to find them in that conditios are in indoor museums (only one in Chile, for what i've seen)

The picture of the F-105 reminds me of a story my father had told me. He had joined the Air Force right after high school. He was apart of the maintenance crew and was on the wing of an F-105 and fell off straight on his tail bone and broke it. In the ER the nurse came in to take a look and gasped. My father was like "What what?" and she said "You have a crack that big." He said he could've killed her because it made him laugh so hard that it made it hurt even worse. He was in the Air Force for 4 years I think and got out and work Lockheed for awhile and re-enter the service in "72". But this time it was the Navy, until he retired.
