Does anyone know if an airfield tractor exists, which can be made to pull aircraft around the field ?
I feel like this would add to the realism of an airfield....

Hi Ruud!

Do you mean a tractor towing AI plane?
It is possible, such a tractor should be built "into" a model itself though.

Nice idea anyway

More like an AI tractor/aircraft combo..... moving at an altitude of 0 feet and with a speed of approx 10 knots from one shelter to the other...

It would mean a new one has to be created with every different aircraft type that is desired, but could be fun though......

I think it would definitely have to be built into the model to make it work right.

I 'think' the Aiver CN235 model had something like this, albeit only on shutdown.

If you download LIPX project made by "ISD project" (www.isdproject.com) you can see a "follow me" car commanded by NAV2 frequency.

You land at LIPX, and, until you leave the runway close to the main parking area, if you set the right NAV2 frequency, you see a "follow me" car that drive you to the right parking spot.

Maybe it'll be what you seek, with the right modifications.
Contact ISD project.

Cheers

Sounds like a fun object too, but my idea is basically just meant to be some moving scenery, independent of your aircraft

Daniel has made a commercial version of the Follow Me Car. It works very well and he intends to make it even better. You can find it here. It is for FSX only, though.

BTW,if you want to try that scenery you can find it on avsim.
Search for ISDProject or Villafranca

The correct filename is: isd_LIPX2006.zip
You can see cars and trucks move on the highway, and other scenery automations.
That's it.
