WANTED: Quick, easy scenery help

Post by Jumpshot724 »

Hey ya'll,
I need some help with 3 AFCADs, nothing major just:

AFCAD 1: Need the control tower moved
AFCAD 2: Need some homes/trees moved/removed
AFCAD 3: Need one building moved

I can do the whole AFCAD thing I just don't know how to manipulate scenery yet. If you can help me PM me with an email address and I'll send you the files. Again, I'm assuming this is all very basic, easy stuff. Shouldn't take more than an hour I just don't know how to do it.

Again, please get back to me ASAP, it's important these get done soon

Are these default objects? If so the only way is to exclude them and start again. I use AFX (Freeware at AVSIM) which is very easy to use and has a built in exclude tool. For placing scenery objects I use EZ Scenery from Abacus, this is payware.

Default autogen trees may require the use of a program like Sbuilder to exclude them. At least that's what I have found in FSX.

As for "moving" buildings, it's definitely a "delete and replace at new location" issue whether you are talking FS9 or FSX.

Sbuilder is probably the most capable proram for exclusions in FS9 and is freeware - look at avsim.

Instant Scenery is payware while RWY13 is freeware and both will place objects in FS9. For FSX, I use Instant Scenery but could use Airport Design Editor (freeware).

Hope that helps.

It's for FS9 and I'm not really comfortable messing around with scenery so is there any way I can send one of you the 3 files and you could do it?

I'm bit busy at the moment doing scenery for future MAIW packages but I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.

If I still had FS9 installed, I would gladly take a look. Unfortunately, there ARE differences between the 2 versions significant enough that someone with FS9 should help you/look at things for you.

One point for the sake of clarity. You aren't asking for simple afcad help. Exclusions and "moving" objects are a bit more involved - not complex, it's just that different programs are used (Think junior high difficulty versus high school).

If no one else steps up by Monday, pm me and I'll take a shot - no promises at the results. Backwards compatability is not one of MSFS's strengths.
