That statement, combined with your signature there, becomes very ironic.

That kinda stinks, though. Is there any to be had anywhere? If not oh well, I've still got the rest of the world with which to enjoy your work in!
Thanks again.

Hello and THANK YOU for everything you guys do!!! I've currently got all of your packs installed in FSX along with all of the PAI packs. My question is why isn't there any Soviet military AI packs? I didn't even realize this until today, I've gotten so used to seeing military traffic all over the world and this morning I was flying over Russia and hardly seen any traffic of any kind. So I got online and came to your site sure I had just missed a pack or two which contained my precious Migs and Sukhois, but no. It would seem that this is indeed a neglected part of aviation. I searched the web and still found nothing. What gives? Is the Iron curtain still up around the Soviet AI? Or could it be , that I am the only one around who would even crave such a thing?
Just kidding! But seriously, whats up with some Soviet AI?

As you can see here, no or very few models available
And yes you're the only one who would crave it
No I'm just kidding, I need something to practice intercepting

I've been working with an Su27 model for the last year. While not AI specific it is the closet thing available.
Not up to MAIW standards but it is possible with a decent computer you could run these.

I posted some pix months ago but let me see if I can find them again.
No LOD's though. I don't have ACM
Suffice to say this is NOT an AI specific model.
I also have some IL76-Mig29-Mig27-Jaguar aircraft too.
This is with Indian Air Force markings.

Thanks Justyn. I had completely forgotten about this package.
If you look at the pic I posted with the blue Sukhois you will see 2 Mi8's in the background. They are from this package.

planejunky, where is the best place to go bear hunting when i download the ai traffic on that link? Do any bears go near the UK? Where do the bears fly from?

That's the only Bear in AI use that I've ever seen. Hard to believe it's an AI specifice model.
It seems to work pretty well though.

The bear in the screenie is a small package I put together a year or so back. It works well, through the Bear has to fly from an obscure airport in Norway to ensure it travels within interception range of the UK.
The other big problem is a lack of GCI support, so I had to experiment a little and write down the timings etc. If you'd like it, just send me a PM.

Back when I had FS9 installed, numerous crashes, hdd problems, and FSx installations ago, I had regular Bear flights from an airport near Murmansk fly NW out to a waypoint NW of Norway then through either the Greenland-Iceland gap or through the Iceland-Scotland gap enroute Cuba. It took a total of 5 invisible waypoints to get both routes just right, if I remember correctly, as I had to ensure I routed the Bears outside/around Florida's airspace.
Interception was a hit and miss thing at times, just like in real life. My best shots at interception were trying to pick the correct "gap" and then just being up there at the right time. Remember that AI descriptors only show onscreen when your aircraft is withing 10 miles of the AI aircraft.
To get the "right time" the first time, I added temporary waypoints in the gaps themselves and simply "slewed&parked" my aircraft there and waited for the Bear to fly by --- at X4 speed of course. That gave me a pretty accurate transit time from any of the numerous departure times I had set up. I could then "fudge" a GCI intercept by imagining that I was vectored there based on intell.
Just one way of doing things. The fun was in working out the fp's myself and then "watching" them work by completing the intercept.
