Pre BRAC New England ANG

Post by crashtruckchuck »

I've seen alot of Air Guard stuff out there but, nothing for New England. I've worked alittle on the 103rd and 104th FW's pre Brac (2006-2007). Still a newb at this repaint thing, and if it wasn't for paintkits, I'd probably not even bother. I'm just looking for alittle feed back (good or bad) as these are being done for a friend who is a retired A-10 Crew Chief in the MA ANG. The MA A-10 needs alot of work, but they're all a work in progress.

Again, I'm no professional but, still a tedious work in progress.

Kinda hacked out a new livery MA F-15 and a Maine KC-135E. I used the Elvis KC-707 from the IAF package as the PAI 707 wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

I played with the Engine smoke and APU smoke in the CFG, but the APU looks like it's on fire, kinda cool... but not the effect I was looking for.

Does anyone know if there are repaint upload restrictions on the Elvis kc-707 or the PAI KC-135? I would expect the model credit and other formalities would have to be added but, as for the model itself or anything else. I would like to share these, and reading some of the posts on here I understand there are proprietary restrictions, I just don't really know how to go about it. I figured I would start with the limitations... then I'll worry about how to get them up on a download website. Any help would be great. There are still alot more to come, but if MAIW is planning doing any packages for New England, I'll step back and let the professionals do it up right.

Before you get too far along, have you checked out this package by our very own Mike MacIntyre:

This was released before the formation of MAIW. It uses older models but would give you some plans and afcads to go with your stuff.

Cool, now I don't have to worry about going cross eyed trying to reinvent the wheel. Thank's Mike(s)! :D
I guess I can put most of this to bed now and focus more on things I'd like to see that aren't out there or in this case right under my nose.

True but that package came out before true AI models existed for some of those models. So if you end up using it, you would probably want to swap the non AI models out for the ones that have been created since then. Most likely the paints for the new models are already available.

I think MAIW will get around to the NE ANG stuff eventually but it's not on the scope right now.

I have AI A/C to replace everything except a good framerate friendly Blackhawk and Huey. But, this is exactly what I was thinking about. This will work for my needs and everyone who I was working on this little project for. I am glad I found this site, I am really impressed with the quality and the variety. I look forward to anything and everything else you guys put out. Thanks again.

Hey Chuck. For that package, I used a P-3 from Jake Burus modified by me using the packages P-3 paints as reference, see screenies and Jordan Moore's "AI" models, UH-1, UH-60M's and B's, which did help on F/R reduction. If interested on the P-3's, I have them packed and ready for delivery. PM me an e address if interested.
