Edwards AFB AFCAD

Post by Javier Tapia »

Hi,

I just started a new AFCAD for Edwards AFB since i couldn't find a good one, and there is a lot of MAIW traffic over there.

I just wanted to know if anyone knew where each unit parked on the base, I can figure some out from Gearth photos but not all of them.

I'll post some screens later, when i finish the aprons.

bye

I would think that being a testing base that there would be no "assigned" parking, the only host unit is the 412th Test Wing under AFMC.

But then again I could be wrong lol.

Well, there's definitely a NASA area as well as the "host squadron" area.
Why waste 'trons for a snappy signature when I can use this?

Thank you for the screen shots. I have a growing interest in developing multiple AFCADs and approaches to support each of those flight testing activities. I'm curious, is that default texture under your runways. I believe MegaScenery SoCal depicts the natural surface pretty well.

To tell the truth... i don't know if they are the default or not, I think they are, but I can't recall if I have changed them or not...

I was at Edwards last night in FS9 and I had to laugh at what I've been using there. I witnessed a Janet 737 and a C-17 taxiing about 20 ft or so above the surface. I will need to fix that. And you can see a pretty definite change in scenery between the MS default and MegaScenery textures.
I wish you the best with your project.
