FS9 Air Traffic

Post by plumber »

Hi, Is there any way in which full ATC facilities can be installed into airfields that have none; ie you are asked to select Runways for take off and landing, no taxi instructions etc?
For me a case in point is Monte-de-Marsan France.

If I understand correctly, you need AFCAD v2.21 by Lee Swordy.

This program allows you to edit an airfield's r/t communication channels (among a host of other things). If you create a "Tower" com channel, FS9 will automatically provide an ATC service at the airfield, including "ground" control - so no more selecting runways from a list. You may also choose to create or change other channels, including a seperate "ground" frequency, or "approach" and "departure" frequencies etc.

You can probably find the program on the net by a quick search. Failing that, hopefully it will be available when the Avsim library comes back online.

Be warned that the MAIW file you have edited may have been an AFX file, so if you use AFCAD to modify it, certain elements of the original file may be lost.
