Twin Bases Suffolk Home of the 81st Tactical Fighter Wing

Post by rocket_26_ »

A small preview of the 81st TFW project thats been in progress for the last 6 or so months.

The Twin Bases from ACG will hopefully be ready for release next month. The finishing touches are being put on the two bases. The package will consist of:

- Full Custom scenery of both RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge by myself and John Young as it was at closure (1993)
- Realistic and accurate AFX/AFCADS from actual plans from the base
- Custom vehicles and ground equiptment by Stephen Legg
- AI models by MAIW (RWAI A-10, HTAI F-16 and C-130)
- 100 + Repaints of the 6 squadrons from 1989 by Mark Walsh
- Full weekly flightplans utilising MAIW waypoints and ranges
- Custom callsigns
- VFR photoreal scenery from Justflight

The project is for both FS9 and FSX (designed for SP2/Accel versions)

The below screens show a almost complete RAF Woodbridge and a aerial shot of the Two bases in FSX.

Scenery looks great will download this straight away once released. One question the cars look to repetitive would the end user be able to remove them? Or will the released version have more variation. Sounds like I'm nit picking but they caught my eye and I cannot stop seeing the pattern of the same cars.

It is great though.

First of all thanks for the kind words everyone. Mark I would say that is nit picking but thats fine as i am also. Is this better for you?. There are only a dozen cars, which is more than adaqate for a scenery. I agree they were repetitive before, they were for FPS testing. I have made 6 or so different combos of lines of cars, reason for putting them in groups is for performance and also time saving. There will be a few that are the same group but not as in the first shot. Now as for removing them, yeah sure u can remove them but you will lose all the fuel trucks and other AF vehicles and equitment. The cars imo make it look much more realistic and dont dent frames.

It will be released as soon as the testing is complete. So at some point this month I hope. It will be released on the ACG site and Justflight for the first two weeks. I will post a notice in the thread when this happens.

I have installed the package as soon as I saw it's release and since doing so I have been pondering the most suitable word to describe this package. I knew it was going to be good.

I'm going for 'stunning'. Congratulations chaps.
