AI Skid Type Helicopters

Post by flyboy »

I have about 300 plus helicopters flying in my sim. Most do all right as far as normal take off and landings, but some skid type seems to hang up on taxi. Any ideas why?

I know there are not a lot of true AI available, but I can get most flyable ones to be used as AI. I am using the air file that came with the stemme and keeping only the contact points and lights section.

This is only a guess but in the past I have had some aircraft very reluctant to taxi. What I have found is that sometimes a simple raising of the aircraft off the ground by sometimes as little as .05 feet can ease the situation.

Alter the vertical position of the contact points to see if it helps. It may take more than .05 it may take less but try in small increments to see what happens, and if it helps.
