Post by maddog65 »

Watching the live feed from Farnborough and I was totally impressed with the A400.
Airbus put on a great display.

Saw the A400 yesterday at RIAT. It is thoroughly impressive. It's gracefull and has a very good soundtrack, the RAF should enjoy using these.

New Defence Minister has said the RAF order will not be hit by the budget cuts. He was originally against the A400 project but now he has seen it he says its a world beater in its class. I wonder what he will cut. My money is on the two new RN carriers! Rumours have it that the RAF tanker contract will get the chop. I wonder if they are thinking of using the A400 in the tanker role?

At first I thought what the hell do we want the A400 for, as I think the RAF should get even more C-17`s. Now I have seen the A400 display over the skies of Farnborough, I am having second thoughts. It is a very agile and powerful aircraft it seems & not too much smaller than the C-17?. Very nice aircraft I say, but I still like the american aircraft the best.

My mate was at the RAF Fairford air show. A lot of the flying a/c also appeared there too.
