Flightplan Syntax Questions

Post by Aileronflap »

Could anyone send me the flightplan syntax that will have two planes fly in formation together under the same flight? I downloaded a few MAIW packages that showed three F/A-18 hornets flying line-abreast over NJ. I'm looking to code some of my own multi-airframe flights from various airfields. I am already familiar with TTools and Yroute for flight-plan file creation.

If there is any coding or tutorials out there that show how to code mid-air refueling between AI aircraft, I'd greatly appreciate that as well.

As far as I know, the best package to look at would probably be the RAF Coningsby package, which includes a Jaguar formation flypast.

You need to set up a load of waypoints in formation, I believe, just outside the active AI zone (about 90 miles away from where you want the formation to be viewed from). Then write your plans so that all the aircraft leave the departure waypoints at the same time, and head off to the destination waypoints. They should hold their formation. You'll get a suitable example of syntax by looking at the Jaguar flypast plans (they're in one of the add-on scenery folders that come with the package).
