UKAAC Apache Afghanistan package help.

Post by Hellfire »

Hi All,
New to the forum and all things MAIW so apologies if this is in the wrong area. From the main MAIW site I went into the file library and scenery section where I stumbled across a file of Camp Bastion and other Afghan files relating to Apache and Chinook. I downloaded all the Afghanistan ones, along with Spadeadam and Carlisle. Firstly I'm a little unsure of how to activate the scenery as I'm finding lack of instruction with the downloaded files.
I have a folder named Military AI Works, with a subfolder inside named 'UK' which in turn has folders within. There is also an 'Aircraft','Textures' and 'scenery' folder which I'm guessing goes into the relevent FSX folders, however the other folder is 'add on scenery'. Subfolders contained in this are 'Scenery', 'MAIW UK Apache bases' and 'MAIW scenery library objects' this is where I'm unsure what to do with each of these folders and quite what they will deliver.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

You found your way here quite nicely, if you'd looked at the stickies at the top of the section of the forum you've posted in you'd have seen a whole thread dedicated to this topic, namely installing MAIW packages in FSX :-)

Try http://www.militaryaiworks.com/newforum ... t=2456here as a starting point.

MAIW packages are designed solely for FS9 (FS2004), but some cunning members worked out a way to install them in FSX as well. It involves following Martin's guide quite explicitly and requires a modicum of IT literacy. In other words, aside from the guide and help from some members of this site, you're on your own.

Good luck.
