Nice! You've captured the shape nicely...
I missed the chance for a fly of one; back in the 80's a friend owned one and I never got around to getting my ride :( It's now a wreck after it crashed in Greenland on the ferry to it's new owner in the US.

Thank you Sean

I have had a little help here from TheFoufure. He compared mine to the Real Air one. Photos that Greg posted a while back also came in handy.

John

PS. If anyone is interested in critiquing it as it grows, please send me a PM and I will forward the files. No obligation to help.

So, it seems that I have to start a scenery for Latina, base of the Italian SF-260...

Here some interesting shots:

Just to allay fears that this has stalled.

Progress is slow.

I am improving the model as I go along.

Still a lot to do before it will be ready for release.

It's a fun plane to fly.

A small update.

I have been away from home for a bit.

This is where it is now.

Parts still need to be added.

Some more pics of a little progress.

Still need to add the wingtip lights.

"Kojak" needs some work also.

More pictures.

I would like some feed back on the model.

I am considering posting files on this thread. Beta versions.

They are frame rate heavy at the moment.

Miljan

It has 2972 vertices and 3665 faces.

I have made my first tentative steps at making LOD's.

This is a single LOD beta version.

The pilots are not textured yet.

My intention is to create interest and invite you to test later true AI versions. It may take a while as I am still not confident of the LOD process.

Enjoy these for now. Let me know of errors or requests. I will consider but not necessarily make the suggestions happen.

John

PS. Should you want the Italian version please send a PM. The reply will include a basic layout of LIRL in the correct position.

Thanks John... I'll get it in the sim and have a good detailed look tonight.

Quick question: Is the texture mapping likely to stay as it is in the Beta? If so, I might have a hack at a repaint as well :)

Sean

The mapping should stay the same. I would have to neaten it up a bit.

Quick look tonight, only model "fault" I can see, is that you can see through the floor from above....
Looks pretty sexy though... :)
