Well would be nice if whomever is doing it would come forward with some previews ect... I was considering have a go at it myself but if someone else is already doing it I would be just as happy... as it will take me a ton of time and work for such a project...

Re: Anybody want more (simple) scenery?
I've seen some screens. I've read about two packs. First with J-10A, and second with J-10B, J-10C and Pakistani's J-10C.jetpilot1980 wrote: 25 Jun 2025, 11:48 Well would be nice if whomever is doing it would come forward with some previews ect... Some other chineese projects are also on the fire
I'll try to see if I can put some screens.

Re: Anybody want more (simple) scenery?
Please do... I will be curious to see what may be coming... Also I would be curious to hear what other Chinese projects are in the fire? As I was considering some myself, but don't want to do overlapping / repeating work with someone else... Would rather focus my own efforts on filling gaps than re-inventing the wheel... Also you say "seen and read" where at? On another forum or? If so what forum? Thanks

Re: Anybody want more (simple) scenery?
Another great set Jim and I do appreciate the rotary wing AFDs. In Pt. 11, not sure if I'm missing "VOGA, Manohar/Goa" in the download.

Thanks for the spot Chris. I'll leave VOGA here for now.

Re: Anybody want more (simple) scenery?
Hi folks,
A lot of my sceneries use trees from this object library...
Prepar3D v4\Scenery\Global\scenery\vegetation.bgl
However they don't switch textures with the seasons, as I cannot see any ".lua" scripts for them.
(I believe P3D somehow switches their seasons by another method for creating autogen.)
I do know how to make script files for each texture using MCX, but there are a heck of a lot of them to do. As I'm a lazy sod, I thought I'd ask if anyone has done the legwork already and is willing to share please?

Otherwise, I'll start churning them out with a text editor for all the types & sizes and share them here myself...

Re: Anybody want more (simple) scenery?
OK, turns out I only need 7 script (.lua) files, but it took me hours of trial and error to get things working. My sceneries have a lot of shortcomings, but trees stuck in summertime have been bugging me for some time, so have given this a go.
The scripts go in F:\Prepar3D v4\Scripts. [Easy to edit for your own preferences: summer is default, SP=spring, FA=fall, WI=winter, HW=hard winter(snow covered) and the numbers count the days of the year that each is used between.] I've over-used mesquite trees (i.e. in the wrong climates), so have compromised by not using hard winter for them.
Disable your own Prepar3D v4\Scenery\Global\scenery\vegetation.bgl object library, but keep it as backup!
Place my version vegetation_JFM_seasonal.bgl in that folder and ALSO into Addon Scenery\scenery (wherever you have yours; mine is in a remote Prepar3D v4 Add-ons drive).
COPY all the texture files that those libraries use to Addon Scenery\texture. (I've included them here for convenience.)
Notes
- vegetation_JFM_seasonal.bgl was created in Model Converter X, and output for P3Dv4 (SDK v4.5).
- My sim also has a similarly named FTX_Vegetation_FULL.BGL global library, I think from Orbx Global Base. I leave that as is, and don't think I've broken autogen. Check your autogen too.
- Some of my sceneries use other tree libraries such as MAIW_Czech ones, and they are summer-only.
- My Add-ons are divided into packages for regions (to save load times) and modern/retro, so was thinking about using different scripts for each, but would probably be better using more appropriate tree types.
- My most recurring bug was still getting summer-only trees with my scenery which is why I duplicated the files in addon scenery. Plus paths in the scripts to your texture files is important.
Remember to back stuff up first to be able to put things back the way they were yourself. This may not work for you.

Re: Anybody want more (simple) scenery?
Robert,
A P3D (ADEP4) scenery for Osan RKSO was included in the Matrix releases. The files are dated May 2018 and I can send you copies if you wish; parking allocations will need updating. Or are you looking for something more recent?

You can't, it was provided via a application-based download so was not something obtainable via the wayback machine.

Re: Anybody want more (simple) scenery?
Thanks Martin! I see my simple scenery pt.12 is available.
Apart from African sceneries, the other odds and sods include VOGA which was missing from pt.11 (but already attached to this forum topic).
I've done Chengdu Qionglai to follow China's rebuild in 2012, probably to handle the new Y-20. I came across the old military school of Rochefort-Soubise while doing some French GA airfields.
Be careful if adding Brasov-Ghimbav in Romania. The heliport has an ICAO code used as an F-16 waypoint, so you may have to rename one or the other. It's a new civil airport, but expected to be developed for mil.
ESDB is a retro ESTA Ängelholm, Sweden; one of several unpublished sceneries I have where I just add mil parking to stock afcads. I thought it deserved a bit more, so here's my best effort (minus underground hangars!)
As always, they are all still "simple" with no custom buildings or photo landscapes; just to give more AI a home. Feel free to do something better with them, and again I'll attach here FS9 sources for you to complile yourselves. If I've missed anything that stops ADE loading them, let me know.
