AFCAD for UKBB?

Post by Jorgen »

Does anyone know there whereabouts of an AFCAD for UKBB that will actually work in P3D v. 5?

I have found one on AVSIM and one on avsimrus, but when I try either of them in P3D, the sim crashes to the desktop with exception code 0xc0000409 in module fe.dll....

To fix the exception error, I checked my C++ libraries, and also did a sfc /scannow, everything on the system side seems OK. What else could I do to fix a stack buffer overrun?

Mason kindly supplied his own UKBB AFCAD, but I'm afraid the issue is more serious than I first thought. P3D now crashes consistently to the desktop, before it reaches the selection screen, with the same exception code, but now in urctbase.dll.

Troubleshooting so far: take some AI aircraft and sceneries out of the reach of P3D to see if I finally had overloaded it, sfc /scannow, take overclocking off my CPU and rolling the nVidia driver 2 versions back. No changes, still crashing happily....

Uninstall and reinstall of the C++ libraries didn't fix this either....

I'm starting to run out of ideas now... would I really have to downgrade to Windows 11?

Well, issue finally resolved.

I applied standard troubleshooting techniques, stripping out add-on.xml files to a place outside the reach of P3D, until things ran as they should.

Then I added the xml files back in a few at a time, until I was left with 3 and things still were running as they should. It turned out that 2 of the sceneries that these xml files call for had issues, namely UKBB (sorry, Mason!) and UKHH. I have now isolated these, and P3D is happy again.

If anyone more scenery-capable than me would be interested in looking at these, then pls shoot me a PM, and I'll send over one or both as desired.

I got another (updated) UKBB from Simmershome, and that one had the same issue. I have asked on Simmershome if Rainer there might have an idea.

This one was converted by Rainer from those at AVSIMRUS, and I also got an UKLL that Rainer had similarly converted. No problems at all with UKLL...
