Dans bits & bobs

Post by shaggy22 »

Instead of hijacking someone elses thread i've decided too start my own.
I've done flightplans and a few afcads for all of Michael Pearsons latest repaints (not SU24'S though) and will upload them here shortly.
first will be Brazilian Navy A4's and the Myanmar mig29's:

I have done an afcad for Yangon but i modded it from someone elses and don't know the rules on posting things like that

Hi Dan,

Thanks very much for these. Would you mind attaching the Traffic Tools text files as well? I have a particular way of naming my aircraft titles and if you decompile the BGLs you can get errors.

Many thanks.

Great!
Well done, just this small issue with the hangars at night, but I think it depends on the hangars

Try to invert the alpha channel of the roof's night texture.

First make a backup of the texture.

Then
Open the texture with DXTBmp
Select top menu "Alpha" select "Invert Alpha"
Save and see how it works.

Good question.

The issue does not exist during daytime, right? - Otherwise it is not a night texture issue.
OK, first of all, the night textures of scenery objects are usually named ***_LM.bmp. (***.bmp would be the name of the daytime texture.)

Looks like an RAF hangar, doesn't it?
Then I suppose it is somewhere in the MAIW Scenery Library Objects/texture folder.
You could just search for it in there - but you need to know how it looks during the day so that you know what you are looking for

Another way is to decompile the object library and look for the model file. You have to guess the library the model is in.
Then you need the GUID of the scenery object. I think Airport Design Editor will show it.
So with the GUID you can identify the model file. You can open the model with MDL Tweaker II (available at the FSdeveloper site).
This small program will list all textures of the scenery object.
