Make a donation to MAIW

Post by Greg »

Hi everyone.

As some of you already noticed, the donations button and QR-code are active again at the bottom of each page on this website.

Please consider helping us pay for the server hosting that keeps this website, the forums and the download hangar running.

When you click on the button or use the QR-code, you'll be sent to my personal PayPal account. I'll make sure the money ends up where it needs to be.

Many thanks for your contribution in name of the entire MAIW team and your fellow flight simmers. :smt023

I'm getting an error message from paypal ("temporary difficulties"). Not sure if it is a wider thing, but will donate once that clears up.

I'm getting the error message "We’re sorry that we are experiencing temporary difficulties" when I tried this morning. Tried it a couple of times. I'll try again later.

I just tried it, using Chrome, and it sailed right through.

I have just tried again and it went through with no difficulties. Must have just been a temporary issue.

Thanks guys!

Sorry for the issues. It must have been a temporary glitch with PayPal.

Together, you already crossed the € 200,- milestone! The target is € 300,- to cover the server costs for this year.

I'm having the same problem with the PayPal robots that I had the last time I tried to donate through that channel. I hope by the time I get back from holiday this week, my message to them has resolved the situation.

Just for info, I'm currently viewing the forum on an Android tablet using Firefox with no extensions (no ad blocking). I can see no PayPal button or link.

Indeed, I can see your donation but it's still being processed. Fingers crossed.

Can you take a screenshot of the very bottom of a page and send it to me?

Hi Greg. I don't know whether it was me or whether Android was taking its time to catch up, but the button is there now!

Interesting,
I clicked the donate link in Microsoft Edge and I got sent to a Paypal page that says "This organizations page is broken".
I then copied the link and pasted it into Firefox and donated without any issue.

Lesson - If at first you don't succeed try Firefox.

A huge thank you to all backers. We made the target for this year's hosting. :smt026

You can still send us your donation if you haven't yet, now is a good time to build a little reserve for next year's bill so please help us keep this site up and running.

Thanks again!

It's heartwarming to see that we received donations from 25 different community and staff members so far.

Many thanks again to all of you!

Your profiles were updated with the special "backer" badge. If you don't see it, it's probably because I couldn't link your paypal email address with your MAIW acount. Just give me a shout if that's the case.

Just kicked in some Euro-currency. I use a totally different email for paypal, but I think you'll see it (says Mark).
