747 models

Post by shaggy22 »

Over the last few months or so Mason Curling & myself have been making up some of the 747 models not properly covered by FAIB, AIA & UTT. I will say this is mostly the work of Mason who has built the extra parts for these models by scratch, I've done some new base textures & the parts as well for them. There's no time frame on release of these, there is still plenty of work to do. It's also worth saying that for things like the E-4 & the VC-25 we will be doing them for both the FAIB & AIA models. The aircraft we've done are as follows:

KC-33 (including IRIAF version)
Space Shuttle Carrier (1 version with the Shuttle on it, 1 with not)
E-4A
E-4B
E-4C
VC-25A
VC-25B
NASA SOFIA
YAL-1A

Here are some screenshots of what we've done so far:

Since there looks like there will be a new Air Force One (747-8), is anyone looking to make a new one for the FAIB 747-8?

Yep, that's one of the many things we still need to do.

Great job.

I've an attempt to create E-4B on FAIB 747-200 with adding the radome (created with sketchup).

The result in ConvercterX and AIAircraft Editor is very nice. But in the Flight Sim (2004), there a some problems of transparency.

I'm impatient to see your work.

Dan, all looking very good and nice screen shots too. What triggers the green laser beam?

That's a question for Mason really, he's the mastermind behind all this. That said I'm pretty sure it's triggered by altitude, 40,000ft if I'm not mistaken.

This:

<PartInfo>
<Name>custom_vis_Indicated_altitude_01_mcx</Name>
<Visibility>
<Parameter>
<Code>(A:Indicated altitude, feet) 40000 &gt;
(E:Local time, seconds) 60 % 10 &lt; and</Code>
</Parameter>
</Visibility>
</PartInfo>

Also the turret animations are altitude and time based; as are the SOFIA telescope animations...

Also only quasi related but I have sent Martin some updated NBAI AH-64 conversions that use the lessons (.xml code) from the YAL and SOFIA to make the laser / FLIR ball and gun move with the gunner (front seat) head; and the upper nose sensor move with the pilot (back seat head)...

I'm incredibly impressed with what you're doing with the military and presidential Boeing 747s. I'd love to see the Boeing 727s made military-grade in the future.

This is truly fantastic work. Although, who knows where this Erez Weber is?

Also here is the alternative Air Force One texture... I did both as I am not sure if President Trump will bring this one back now that he is back in office...

That's definitely a question for Mason (jetpilot1980), but I've been out of communication with him for some time now. So I don't know if he's still around or not in all honesty

In terms of adding these aircraft to this package, the answer is no... This was designed to be a 747 specific package not a general airliners package; and while these aircraft are interesting topics, the amount of work to make them (fabricating parts; positioning parts on the models; repaints ect.) would warrant them being packages of their own... While I would not say never to these; I will say not for this package...
