Re: Boeing talks aboit reboot of C-17 production
While I think this is probably still in the realms of idle speculation, I think several of the current operators would welcome the opportunity to supplement or even replace their current C-17 fleets - it's an old aircraft now, and there's no replacement on the horizon. A C-17B with more modern engines and systems would probably sell very well.

I red that UK and India would like to order new C-17.
Morocco was also interested in C-17, when they didnt have Abrams tanks.
Today Morocco has around 400 Abrams tanks, many of them second hand (refurbished), so that the C-17 would make perfectly sence.

I agree with Tim. It wouldn't make much sense to just put the previous model back into production but one with updated avionics is one that might attract the USAF, and lets be honest that really is the only customer that would make it worthwhile restarting the line for.

Re: Boeing talks about reboot of C-17 production
My mate Nobby Clarke was 'our man' on the C-17 at Charleston way back in 1996 - before I left the RAF - and became the first RAF trainer on the type when it entered service here in 2001. The last aircraft was delivered in 2015, but most were delivered in the first 10 years of production so the majority of the fleet is 20 - 30 years old. I think a lot of people would dearly love to see it back in production!
