Tower view help

Post by jkomazenski »

Hi All,

I'm looking for some help, I'm sure this is an outdated topic, BUT after I install some of the scenery or AI aircraft, the tower view has this insane altitude over the air field. I've tried a few different things, but nothing seems to work. Is there a quick fix for this?

Thanks!

Changing the tower viewpoint altitude is easy with ADE or AFX.

In the simulator SLEW your aircraft, preferably a Cessna, until your cockpit is in the tower nest. Glass box.

Note the altitude in the bar at the top of the screen.

Make sure you convert feet to meters if necessary for the units in ADE.

Look for the AFX or ADE_XXXX.bgl for your airport in your scenery folder for the airport.

Save a copy in a new folder.

Copy the ADE or AFX to a folder inside ADE. I have mine as "bgl"

On the Main task bar of ADE click on File.

Click on "Open Airport from bgl".

Navigate to the desired .bgl.

Click on it to open.

In ADE airport layout, click on the pink tower circle. T in circle.

Right click on it. That will bring up a drop-down menu.

Select edit object.

Edit the altitude.

Save.

Compile the airport.

Move the compiled airport to replace the original airport file.

Keep your back-up bgl in case something went wrong.

Hope this is of some help.

John
