Virginia Guard first to get F-22

As of June, they are the first ANG unit to get the F-22. From the story looks like they will be co-located with AF Units at Langley.

Yea but they are not really getting there own F-22s. They will be sharing them with the 1 FW at Langley. No more vipers at Richmond:-(

I saw a similar posting at another site. I guess I am just getting old. Back in the day(G) the Guard and Reserve had their own airplanes. Reminds me of that old Congressional response in the early days of Military aviation, "Why not buy one airplane and let them all fly it?"
