A friend of mine works at a small civilian airfield which I will not disclose...b/c he asked me not too.

He sees this kind of stuff all the time.

Just thought you guys might enjoy this.

Why the secrecy? Are they not supposed to be flying it?

Nahh...he told me that some of the owners don't like pix spread around. But we're far enough away that they shouldn't see them.

I will say it's a small airport in the midwest.

If ya'll remember, I posted a link to an A-4 being sold as a restoration project on ebay a little while back. Shrug: Sometimes owners have "weird" senses of what's what if you ask me.

((My 2nd cousin, a WW2 B-24 pilot, maintained and flew a restored ME-108 (not a 109) for a number of years out of KNEW. He was both protective of it and liked to show it off --- somewhat contradictory impulses. As it was painted in a "traditional" Luftwaffe scheme, I guess the swastikas may have been the cause of some of the mixed reception he got from people who saw it and, therefore, his weirdness about it.))
Why waste 'trons for a snappy signature when I can use this?

I know of several former Scooter drivers that would love to just see something like this in person. The ebay listing had a good following on another Naval Aviation site that I am on. Not sure what the big deal is, ATAC flys several.
