Grand Forks AFB
I'm trying to put together a package for GFAFB and i was hoping someone could round up some serial numbers so i can start cranking out some repaints of the 135's, I know Graham King did a few but I'd like to do as many as possible.
I should be able to make a nice scenery as well since I know the place real well.

The 911 is moving to Seymour Johnson and will be the Active duty conponent of the 916 ARW (AFRES). Looks like we will need to add some more KC-135s to the SJAFB PackageSMOC wrote:Well, the good thing is with the 911th deactivated you're down to only somewhere between 40-44 aircraft.
Your best bet is scramble and airliners.

I agree it would be nice to see Grand Forks keep a flying mission. At least one worth a crap, not the UAS platforms they want up there. I can't understand why they would BRAC all the KC-135s out but bring in the KC-45s. I know there is lobbying to do so but it just doesn't make sense. If GFAFB value wasn't high enough to keep the tanker mission at this point I how could they justify it being high enough to be given the new tanker?

im stationed at grand forks, if you need help with what we have right now assigned let me know, we are number one on the list to get the new tanker as a test base for the one chose which right now the air force is leaning toward the 767 due to air bus not providing us with a actual tanker to test right now when boeing has provided a full working tanker to test. and for the record the grand forks ribbon across the top of the tails of our birds are all black and white, and we have one bird with our mascot on the nose

hey, if you can and don't mind pm me whats there. I used to be stationed there as well but left in 2003 for keflavik, and am now at holloman. I hope they get the new tankers, I grew up there as a kid also when my dad was a crew chief there and they had the B-1's. I would hate to see it have the UAV's.Cowboymarine1593 wrote:im stationed at grand forks, if you need help with what we have right now assigned let me know, we are number one on the list to get the new tanker as a test base for the one chose which right now the air force is leaning toward the 767 due to air bus not providing us with a actual tanker to test right now when boeing has provided a full working tanker to test. and for the record the grand forks ribbon across the top of the tails of our birds are all black and white, and we have one bird with our mascot on the nose

i now have 26 numbers that were confirmed at GF between 2006 & present. the only problem i'm having is finding out if they were with the 911th, 912th, 905th, or the 906th they all seem to have the same tail markings and that makes it even harder. so maybe i'll just make it one big 319th ARW and not designate by squadron...

the sun and snowflake emblem is under the window on the pilot side, and that i know of all of the a/c are just wing assigned, i mean when im on g2 one a/c will have 905 crew for one mission and then 912 for the next, and the three squadrons here are the 905, 906 and 912. ill do my best to see if one of my boom buddies knows more than me on the squadron split of the 35 a/c assigned here

so did they strip that logo from the tail? i have six pictures of six different jets and they are all on there as of 07...so sometime after 07 they removed them? I still may leave em as this is going to be a sort of retro package anyways. 319th ARW it is!! you guys can load your imaginary squadrons as you wishCowboymarine1593 wrote:the sun and snowflake emblem is under the window on the pilot side, and that i know of all of the a/c are just wing assigned, i mean when im on g2 one a/c will have 905 crew for one mission and then 912 for the next, and the three squadrons here are the 905, 906 and 912. ill do my best to see if one of my boom buddies knows more than me on the squadron split of the 35 a/c assigned here
