Helis not appearing

Post by Falcrum68 »

Hi Team, i have installed SH-90 MARINA MILITARE and UH-90 ESERCITO ITALIANO By Giorgio Perotti “Bismarck” and I see no helis on the installed airports. I've checked the traffic files and so on, but anything is ok. Other MAIW traffic is running on the airports. Is there any problem with the LHAI aircrafts?

OK so lets start with the basic facts.

You have got and installed the two packs that you mentioned.
You are seeing traffic at the airfields that he has supplied afcads for.
You are not seeing any UH-90/SH-90 aircraft at all.

Well there are three obvious things to check.
Firstly, that you have indeed got the UH-90/SH-90 aircraft installed in the correct folder and the same with the traffic files, although technically the traffic files can be in any active scenery folder it is always best to leave them in Scenery\World\Scenery.
It is an obvious thing but you would be surprised how many people have made a mistake in this area.

Assuming that the aircraft and traffic files are installed correctly, the next thing to check is that you have installed all the scenery add-ons and activated them as well. The reason is that quite often helos will have their own afcads for helo only operations. You can't assume that if they operate from a base you have an afcad installed for that they use that afcad.

Once installation issues have been ruled out then check that you have not got your traffic percentage too low. Set it to 100% and check to be sure. This too catches people out.

Thirdly, this one catches out the experienced user far more than the novice user. The case here is that the user has amended the titles of the aircraft in the cfg files but then doesn't amend the traffic files to match. This is not that common but does happen.

That is enough to rule out the obvious mistakes.
