Hi MAIW, Canadian Hornets is a great package. I am looking for a little help with this package. All installed ok in FS9.
Have all effects and files in correct place. But when I view hornets at TO at CYOD AND CYBG
there is no afterburner effect showing. I have checked effects file,

Has anyone else having the same problem?

Nigel, go into your FS9/Effects folder and look for this effects file:

"fx_nbai_f18_ab.fx"

If that got installed correctly, then the problem would be in the actual Aircraft.cfg [Lights] section.

Thanks Mike for your reply. That file is in the effects file ok, and the
aircraft config has them as follows:
light.9 = 2, -28.25, -1.55, 0.90,fx_nbai_hornet_ab ,
light.10 = 2,-28.25, 1.55, 0.90,fx_nbai_hornet_ab ,

Still no AB?

Mike, the effects file is as the aircraft config file:
fx_nbai_hornet_ab.fx
not fx_nbai_f18_ab.fx as you sugested. Is there a mapping fault in the model or air file.
I haver checked the config for all f18's but I have noticed that none of mine
display ab

Have got that file and in correct place. I have since visited all other airports that use F18's
and all show afterburner. When I return to CYOD the canadian hornets show no ab. I have checked the aircraft cfg and all appears to be the same as the others. Could it be a scenery fault perhaps? not allowing the light to show?

Whilst I would not rule it out 100% I can't see how that could be the case. A more likely scenario is that the ones at CYOD are not using the same burner in the config file, or aren't Nick's model.

An earlier CF-18 package used Mikko Maliniemi's model, under the name OAI CF-18/OAI F-18. It might be worth checking that you don't still have some of those in your system.

Them be Nick Black's alright
However noise abatement procedures dictate NO AB's so you don't scare the wildlife :smt026 :smt029 .No, on second thought that's not right ,all the wildlife in the YOD area is ON base .Now YBG THAT'S a very different story :wink:

:lol: OK, if you have checked and you only have Nick's model in the sim, how many of his F-18 folders do you have in game and do they all have the same burner parms?

I've got them all . @ YOD I've got the Cdn Hornet package and 14 A/C (441 and 416 Sqn) added into the Finnish Hornet package running and all burners are serviceable .
Good luck with your problem

Hello everyone and thank you for the beautiful packages that you provided.

I installed the new pack of Canadian Hornets.

Here's my problem.

When I start a flight, at Cold Lake or Bagotville all the CF-188 are visible and stationed at their gates, but there is no movement, not on ground (taxi) or in flight.

I noticed that at the beginning of a flight, while I am my gate, 2 or 3 CF-188’s have their canopy open with the pilot in place and seems like the engines are running. But few seconds later, the canopy closes, the pilot disappears and the pitot and intake protectors took place.

The aircrafts remains in place but no movement.

This problem exists in both my installations of FS9 or FSX.

EditvoicePack is installed as Ultimate Traffic X for FSX.

AFCAD are unique for Cold Lake and Bagotville, no duplicate in a fresh installation of FS9.

My system runs Windows 7.

I have the same problem with the other packages of Maiw. Before, all packages were running well. So, I do not know what could happen.

Anyone got an answer?

Thanks

Eric

Thanks guys for your help. I found that I had another set of canadian hornets by
someone else that was conflicting with MAIW package. Thus offender removed.
I give priority to MAIW Packages. :wink:

Glad that's sorted. I have to say that I rely on tools like ACA2005 due to the fact that there comes a point when you have so much traffic installed that you just can't remember everything.

@Eric
Believe it or not you have overcome the most difficult issue that people get when installing traffic. You actually get it showing up. Plus you state that you see them in both FS9 and FSX which is no mean feat.

This means that you have the textures the models and the plans installed correctly, otherwise nothing would show up. This would naturally lead us to consider that you just haven't been at the base at the time that there are any movements yet.
Have you got any utils installed like ACA2005 or the TVB virtual plane that can show you the schedules? Please remember that all schedules are in GMT so the times on the base will be offset by some hours. TVB can be very useful in this regard.

This is normal AI behaviour when you start your sim, all AI will cycle through there relevant included modeled annimations. ie Canopy open pilot in seat, fire extinguisher and so on. They then will go to sleep until its time for there start up procedures.

Hello All,

I would like to thank you all for those great Scenery. Mostly Desmond for the Canadian Hornets package. Well its the only one i have tried so far and convert it to FSX and it works great. But many others will be tried soon.

Someone i know did try to convert it and it did not work mostly blank screen on the base.

I was wondering can i send him my convert package for FSX. Is it LEGAL with the copyright "stuff" to only send it to him not uploading it on any public Site.

Also is there any utility like ACA2005 for FSX. I Am trying to add 5 military AI with AIFP to a civilian airport but only 3 shows up on parking space.

Thanks again for that scenery. Its really cool to fly with so many legacy hornet in single player.
