Great job Del, good to see.
Well Dan, since you provide so much pleasure in us being able to view your air show photographs, it's the least I can do for you. Let me just finish the Hawkeye's and Greyhounds first and "Snoopy" will be next on the list.

That's a great suggestion, really looking forward to it. Where did Snoopy live, was it Benson?

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
I did research "Snoopy" after Steve suggested it when I was making the main C-130 models. It was based at Farnborough and later Boscombe Down for weather research until 2001, when it was retired. However, a few years later "Snoopy" was acquired by Marshalls of Cambridge as a flying test bed for the Airbus A400m engine. It was then destined to be scrapped and the last photo I found shows the aircraft in a sorry state at Cambridge minus it's engines in 2013. "Snoopy" was finally chopped up at Cambridge in 2015.

OK due to some stuff I was doing for John, I was a bit late in creating a tutorial for Converting DDS textures to DXT3. It is now in the tutorial section.

Here are the Botswana paints and they turned out alright. So why did I do Botswana? Well, I just wanted to replace an old HTAI package. These paints aren't entirely accurate, as they actually fly 3 C-130Bs, but it's pretty close.

hi dellboy are these schemes in the c130 package by johnDelboy99 wrote: ↑09 Apr 2020, 21:56 With all the excellent C-130 repaints being released at the moment I thought I would share some of mine. I have just uploaded retro repaints for the Hercules C1s and C3s used by the RAF as they were in the 1980s. The Hercules C1 uses the CC-130H73 model, whilst the Hercules C3 uses the CC-130H-30 model. FSX only I'm afraid, I don't have FS9 installed anymore.

Yes they are for Johns C-130s. Both models are in the Canada package.
John, looking forward to the Snoopy model.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
I decided to finish up the Bangladesh C-130s, with all 4 of the C-130Bs and the two C-130Js they currently have.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
@jetrange, just a paint kit question as I further explore the long procrastinated skill of repainting MAIW models. I see the layer that lets me change the tail flash and tail number, but what do I do after that with the paint kit, merge the layers and then save? Like many of the paint kits, the JYAI C-130 base color is good for all USAF Hercs, so really I only need to change decals. I've got reference pics and scale-model decal sheets, I'm just not sure what to do next. I'm looking over the Little Rock AFB package.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
When it comes to details, I don't usually merge layers together because keeping layers separate makes it easier for editing.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Save the layered file un-merged, then save a copy as a 24 bit .bmp to a different folder with all layers merged. Resize that .bmp to 1024 x 1024 pixels and load that file into Dxtbmp to make the texture.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
I've already made a Pallas LM-100J by just using the C-130J model and it works just as well.
Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
I've just uploaded an FS9 version of the RAF Hercules package.
