Minot AFB

Post by Joseph29 »

I have John Stinstrom's Minot AFB scenery (FS9), and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to make the scenery work with FS Genesis mesh? With the mesh installed there are hills craters and all over the airport.

When I use this scenery I have to disable the mesh and I don't really want to do that anymore.

The simple answer is that you have to make a flatten that covers the area that you want, i.e. at least the airfield.
The reason I say at least the airfield is because you may create a situation where you may either finish with a massive cliff at the edge of the flatten. I once had to create one that was a couple of miles across to avoid it looking wrong.

You can create this using SBuilder, FSTFlatten or ADE. There may well be others. Be aware that to avoid big rises or drops at the edge of the flatten you may need to compromise the height of the airfield to get a better effect and therefore you will need to adjust the height of the afcad and its contents accordingly.

Thanks I will give it a try, but that may be a little over my head.

PS: I made a mistake, I ment John Stinstrom's Ellsworth Air Force base, not Minot.
