Re: Norton AFB

Nice project. I will admit that I had never heard of it so I looked it up. It is quite a few years ago that I did drive through parking but I seem to remember that I started with the departure routes first as theses would only go to the ends of the runway(s). When i was sure that they worked I would...

Re: Finland becomes new F-35 customer

I see where you are coming from, Ray. If you already know it then it is just clutter you don't need.

I don't have a problem with people posting news that maybe not everybody has seen yet, my thing is more subtle that it is not news that is being posted.

Re: Lockheed T-33A / Canadair CT-133

Very well done. One of the best schemes, I think, was G-TBRD in its previous guise as G-OAHB 'The Black Knight'.
Anybody who saw that flying around the UK in the 70s will never forget it. That and his CF-100 - at the time when most people wondered what the bl**dy hell a Cf-100 was.

Re: Finland becomes new F-35 customer

Asdro, it is fine to post things about certainties and the occasional What if but really all you are doing at the moment is impersonating a football journalist - player x may leave team x, team y is interested in player y. What I mean is that I have personal knowledge of somebody that did eval fligh...

Re: FSX and converting from 9 to X

That entirely depends on the person that created the FSX lib. IF they converted the objects but left the GUIDs of the objects the same then no they would not need to modified. The source specifies the GUID of an object that would be placed in a location. Therefore if the GUIDs of the FS9 and FSX lib...

Re: Oopps!

OK I will do a dangerous thing here and make an assumption. I am guessing that what you are doing is trying to modify the fde that comes with it. This normally doesn't work out so well. What you do is take an existing AI aircraft that is of the same type and use that as a base. People generally star...

Re: Let's play a game... MSFS or DCS...

What I found is that the basic DX12 that they are using is fitting fps quite significantly, so i reverted back to DX11.
My guess is that SU8, due out at the end of Feb, - which has been stated that it will only be a bug fix release - is to give greater effectiveness to DX12.

Re: A-7E US NAVY

I have never understood the USN just dropping completely Showtime. After Cunningham and Driscoll you would have thought that they would have ensured that it remained.

Just smells like there is a story behind that.

Re: Casa C-295 Portugal, looking for flightplans

The models I will have to leave to others to fix the link to, as I don't have access to that part of the system. The flightplans are in the forum page https://militaryaiworks.com/forums/topic?t=9274&start=80 *UPDATE* A quick search for 'CASA C-295' in the Download Hangar reveals the file that it...

Re: What about updates when designing for MSFS?

Manfred, from what i have read that can't be said. it really depends upon the manner and tools you use to create the scenery. I am not saying that it won't be compatible but rather that it may need an update to make it compatible with the latest version. Not every version mind you. For example if yo...

If you use the Mike Pearson versions then Jacques Capdeville did schemes for VF-43 birds.

Interesting article there, Gav. Shame there were no pics of the bands, would have been a god send to painters. Also strange that they don't mention the 960th flash.

Re: Lockheed T-33A / Canadair CT-133

Niche be damned. I want it. Most British aircraft could be termed niche due to the numbers produced or users that had them in service. Now if some painter was clever enough to come up with the scheme for Ormond Haydon-Baillie's ones that we based at Duxford that would be superb. His Black Knight is ...
