I thought it was the "one careful owner" pledge that sold it.
Wonder who the poor RAF bloke was that got to sift through 50+ years of maintenance logs to see what they were getting....

Probably the one that thought that getting the Nimrod AEW3 was a good idea.

Re: Making heli AFD overlay

OK I think the general consensus is that they need to be at the same height, however the AFD location should be different and as different as practical. This is because the game engine can get confused if they are too close, at least in FS9. The naming standard you propose is good enough. You want i...

Re: Offut AFB

Great to see those models! If you want to be a bit more accurate, you can use the RAF Airseeker mdl file for the USAF RC-135V/W models now, they should have all been updated to this same block standard by now which is the same thing (for the most part) that that the RAF has on their 3 aircraft. Cha...

Re: More Mirages

Yeah, there are a load of small differences which are not immediately apparent. Just taking Brazil as an example. Mike designated them early and late models, as he often did, but they are in fact different versions. The Early models are officially IIIEBRs whilst the late models are IIIEBR-2s which a...

Re: ai aircraft editor

I suppose the obvious question is how many Aircraft folders do you have? The reason I ask is that I have two sets of folders on my FS9 system. One currently names Aircraft is the subset I use for testing, and has 220 folders. Yes maybe I should clear that out. The second set currently called Aircraf...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon

OK. I read your posts, several times, and I am having difficulty understanding them. Let me see if I can clarify things. JY does not paint any schemes unless he includes them as part of a package. JY is a modeller first and foremost and does not spend time doing schemes outside of his packages. So w...

Re: Re: AIRCRAFT NO VISIBLE AT ANY MILITARY STATIONS

OK this is what I think happens with Matrix installs. Firstly, you do not have to install anything from the download. P3D does not need everything in a predetermined place. You can install addons anywhere you use an xml file that tells P3D to load the info. The xml files are created in the location ...

Re: Mother Russia

It is still in the pipeline. The model is complete it is a case of adding LODs. This is modelling and all I have is done is compiled. I am trying to use the MCX tool that adds LODs, which works but then plays all animations permanently. If it comes to the worst we can release with a single LOD as th...

Re: ai aircraft editor

I am not sure. Somebody with more knowledge on FSX would have to give the definitive answer there as to whether it was the fltsim entry or the folder itself being there. I would have thought that if what you propose is correct why not just have a fltsim parm VISIBLE=YES or VISIBLE=NO. It would make ...

Re: ai aircraft editor

I don't think that is what Gary meant. He wasn't trying to delete the aircraft, just not have it show up in the FSX selection menu. Gary, what is the no 2 box that you are referring to? There are two ways in FSX to make the aircraft unselectable. Changing the .air file to AI or removing/renaming the...

Re: P3Dv4 packages in FSX

I think, and I am willing to be corrected here, that FSX packages can be used in P3D up to v4. There may need to be some mod work on scenery but the aircraft will work.
If a package is designated FSX/P3Dv4 then it is designed for FSX and is compatible with P3Dv4.

Steve, everything has been deleted and scanned looking for any files in unusual places.
