Re: Maiw traffic not showing in fsx

If you found it using that tool then it must be an FS9 standard traffic file, no matter what the name is.
If you wanted to keep it just use AIFP to convert it and ensure that the original is deleted.

Re: Maiw traffic not showing in fsx

Yes indeed. Back in the mists of time MS decided to put all the traffic files in one location but any traffic file in any ACTIVE folder, i.e. active in the scenery.cfg folder, will actually load which means that they all have to converted to FSX standard or they will cause black holes in AI traffic....

Re: Maiw traffic not showing in fsx

I guess the first question should be, Where did you put the traffic files?

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

There is a part of me that thinks that this aircraft should be called the MRCA - Must Refurbish Catalina Again.

Purely a homage to the 1970's where some people substituted Canberra to describe the Tornado project.

Thank you for the link. The text is from 2017. I visited the Altus website. It seems that the C-17 is still based there. But couldnt find out how many are based there.

Using the standard MAIW used website for such info, I found out that there are 16 a/c on the 58th.

Re: Documents for C-17

As Jon alluded to, the chances are that info on the systems will only be available when the systems go out of service.

If they were freely available then you would be able to find them. Let it lie.

It could be the wheels are only for beaching and not intended for operational use ?

Gary

If that is the case then it would be a hell of a job getting these aircraft through maintenance.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

I read about that as well. Wonder if it will happen. I would have thought that the H conversion to 8-props would have been the priority but as you say interesting.

I had never heard of Glasgow AFB until this package. The learning curve is pointing upwards today.

Re: JYAI KC-10A

No problem. It was slightly off topic but I think that John would also be interested if you had found some other HF2 anomalies. I saw that the issue is attached to the first version of the SBAI An-74, the second version had no such issue. I decided to avoid any future issues but amending the aircraf...

So is it just HF2 that doesn't like the decimal in the mdl folder name or was it earlier versions too?

Re: JYAI KC-10A

I think you are right there. I can only really talk about the aircraft.cfg files here. There seems to be an effort to keep the parms the same or similar to the ones defined for FS9. Sure they have added some new categories or even added some extra possible parm values but they seem to keep them as c...

Re: JYAI KC-10A

That is a fair point, John. I suppose to be accurate it has to be said that before HF2 if the standards weren't met it just ignored them. So no harm was done. Why after all this time L-M are hardening them without publicising it is curious. This it what makes me think that it may not exactly be a de...

Re: JYAI KC-10A

OK I have replaced both the FS9 and FSX/P3D packages with ones that include Johns mods that he has mentioned in this thread. A little note here I think is in order to clear things up. Every SDK from FS9 onwards specifies that parms for the atc_parking_codes parm should be no longer than 4 characters...
