Re: Windows 7 problems
You could build it yourself inside two days. I understand that you might not be confident enough, if if that is correct then feel free to play safe, but there are loads of tutorials and guides online. Like most things in life - it is your choice. Don't be forced into it if you don't feel comfortable...

Re: Windows 7 problems
Well that should keep you going for a month or so
.
In all seriousness, if it meets your needs now, plus a bot of wiggle room for the future then you should be fine.

Well being our own spares shelf is a step forward over being one for the USMC.

Re: Flight Simulator is already running
Thanks for having a look.
I'm on 22000.778, with the latest patch.
If you get to that one and you are still able to run it then it would seem to be a corruption although I would have thought that it would have crashed rather than bring up a nice safe requestor. That just seems to be too deliberate.

Re: Flight Simulator is already running
Hi Tim, No nothing that is obvious. It is really weird. The obvious first check was to reboot, which i did. The first thing I did was run FS9 but the error came up again. The system seems not to know about it, but AIFP has no problem finding it which proves that the registry is not the problem. I ha...

Flight Simulator is already running
Gents, I need your help. Today I was loading up FS9 to look at the new pack for the CMV-22Bs. What I got was a requestor saying :- "Flight Simulator (or Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator) is already running. Please quit other instances and restart Flight Simulator. " Now despite a quick lo...

Re: The old WoAI packages
Glad you got it sorted.
What your problem sounds like is that you are missing a system add-on library to enable the app to work, something like a VB or C++ lib.

Re: In Search Of (ISO) Static Aircraft Objects (FSX/P3D)
I see your viewpoint, Al. Once you make something available somewhere and somebody takes liberties with your work without asking it does become a different situation. We do not consider ourselves police but we do try to uphold the rights of individuals. This is the reason over the years that so many...

Re: In Search Of (ISO) Static Aircraft Objects (FSX/P3D)
The way things work is that if you model an aircraft and make it available to the world in general you are the copyright holder. This means that only you can modify it, distribute, or even create schemes for it unless you specify that this person or that organization has permission to carry it or ma...

Re: In Search Of (ISO) Static Aircraft Objects (FSX/P3D)
I don't believe that static models are currently distributable for those types.
Maybe the best thing to try is using SAMM by Don Grovestine http://stuff4fs.com/newpage.asp?Folder=SAMM.
It is designed to turn models into statics. Give it a try.

Re: Anybody want more (simple) scenery?
Users always want things immediately, but some times it is prudent to wait to see if any bugs crept it.
My vote would be to wait a short while.

Tim,
As you well suspect, I would be very interested in an FS9 version but I am guessing that this will not happen. Lovely work though.

Re: Windows 7 problems
Yes, cooling is one area that I am keeping an eye on for the future. At the moment M.2 drives are definitely helping keeping the inside of a machine decluttered and therefore cooler but with the way things are going with the PCI bus versions it can become an area of concern again. GPUs themselves ar...

Re: Windows 7 problems
That is indeed the ideal. The biggest hurdle these days seem to be the motherboards. They are limited to certain CPUs. You want a new CPU you have to change the motherboard. Re: Windows 7 problems
As a general rule you are correct in that you should not build just for what you need now but what you might potentially need. The difficult thing is building in potential expansion whilst maintaining a reasonable level of cost. Someone that I used to work with upgrades his PC every 18-24 months wit...

Re: ai H-53 Sikorsky model ..
There hasn't been one made available yet. At the time I was aiding Menno on his project i did ask about doing the S-80 but he hadn't decided to do it at the time. He didn't rule it out but I think he said that it would basically be a new model rather than converting the H-53 source. This was the rea...
