Re: HMS Lizzie

I think John is asking for scenery objects with a landable (hardened) deck for AI?

Little use now of course, since the 56th RS moved to Aviano, Italy.

Re: Bize scenery

The FS9 freeware version of UK2000 Brize Norton from the Part 5 pack? I don't know how out of date it is though.

Re: HMS Lizzie

It's not a job I fancy at the moment John. It would need a good 800 hours of modelling and testing with AI to do the job properly for all 3 sim versions. That excludes the escort ships, although we have a few of those that might come in useful. Is it not something you are interested in modelling you...

Re: Bize scenery

If that's the Brize scenery under development for P3Dv4, I did try the work in progress copy that Paul sent me in FSX when I was testing my RAF C-130's in P3Dv4. It works fine in P3Dv4 as it was intended, but in FSX it freezes the loading. It may be that if the objects were converted from P3Dv4 form...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

ZH880, ZH883 and ZH887 are now retro paints. The only paints I'm intending to do now are for the Canadian (part done) and Italian C-130 packages. After that, I'll release the generic models to add to what's been done already, plus a comprehensive paint kit. Would you care to contribute a paint or tw...

On the contrary Jim, I'd be very pleased with that.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

The RAF C-130J’s are complete and sent for inclusion in the MAIW Download Hangar this morning. There are 13 of the long fuselage models (C4’s) and sadly only the 2 remaining short bodies (C5’s). The models include doors open/closed, refueling probe/no probe and tanks/no tanks options. The paint work...

Re: JASDF Bases

When I started the "J" project it was only my intention to make the J-30, AC's and EC's. I started with base Gmax models for the long and short version J's, but mission creep sent me in the direction of H's and the like. I kept the initial "J" naming convention for the main texture. I probably shoul...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

Well that makes it considerably easier. I'll just paint ZH888 and 9 then. Thanks for the information, I'm glad I asked.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

The RAF C5 models are done and I just have to paint them. Looking at the list of serials, ZH887 still had the "RAF 100 tail" as of June this year and ZH883 also had the "50 Year" tail in March. I'll assume both are still current, but I can provide regular tails as an option for when they are withdra...

Re: Thoughts on the next project

Those are quite interesting John, but I think there's a higher priority for other aircraft according to the list. It's also good to support those designers who are beavering away with scenery too and that creates at least one another option. Just the C-130s for the RAF, Canada and Italy to finish fi...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

Thanks for that. As I understand it, UK2000 for FS9 is now free, but UK2000 Part 1, V2 (which includes Brize) for FSX/P3Dv4 costs £29.99. I think then rather than buy scenery I won't tend to use after testing, I'll just release the RAF Hercs as aircraft and flight plans only packages. As has been su...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

I have the RAF C-4's finished (long fuselage) and I'm just about to start the C-5's (short fuselage) conversions and paints. What Brize Norton scenery are people currently using in FS9, FSX and P3Dv4 please? I know there is a version in development for P3Dv4 and that should provide a good home for t...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

I'm pleased to say that after being away on holiday I was able to pick up the Mildenhall MC-130J's again on my return and finish off the packages, which were uploaded this morning. As always, just give Greg time to make them available. https://i.imgur.com/6sQMXcl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/tjLXN9B.jpg ...

Re: Poseidon - getting there!!

Thanks Jim. A cursory look suggests that I won't need to mod the current USN models I made. The antennae arrangement looks the same so unless something unusual is loaded under the wings, it looks like it's just a repaint job.

Re: Missing Traffic

If everything is in the right place, then the next most likely cause of the problem is that you have one or more FS9-formatted traffic files live in your FSX/scenery/world/scenery folder. Temporarily remove all traffic files except for the New River Ones and see if the traffic appears. If it does, p...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

Thanks for spotting that one. Note that the Drogue spelling affects both FS9 and FSX model.cfg entries for the MC-130J Drogue models at Kadena. That makes two items on my sweep up list to correct. Just a quick update on what I'm doing at the moment. With Mins's Korean paints packaged and uploaded, I...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

Thanks Jim, Steve has kindly corrected that in the upload, so everyone should be fine from here on.

Paul, thanks for that one. It's a very minor thing that only affects the identities of the two aircraft, but I'll sweep it up later with anything else that might emerge.
