Re: JYAI Boeing KC-46A’s

Good question. Steve and I discussed this. It really depends on the fuel weight of the aircraft and for most missions that would probably make the aircraft use "Heavy" with ATC. So yes, I would be inclined to add it to the foreign KC-46A cfg.

Re: Maiw traffic not showing in fsx

Yes indeed - the addon scenery folder and any other scenery folders you use for specific airfields. If the AI aircraft and traffic files are in the right folders and AI is switched on at 100%, 98% of the time when AI doesn't show in FSX, it's down to an FS9 formatted traffic file. I've advised two p...

Re: Maiw traffic not showing in fsx

Could you have any FS9-formatted traffic files in your FSX local scenery folders?

Do you have both traffic sliders at 100?

Re: JYAI Boeing KC-46A’s

I have downloaded the 767/707 Tanker package, today. Where do I find the Slime Lights for the 767? Do the 707s also have Slime Lights inreal life? Asdro, assuming you mean the KC-46A package and not the Boeing 767 Derivatives package, the answer to your slime lights question is on page 8, section 6...

Re: JYAI Boeing KC-46A’s

Thanks Chris, The paints were done a few weeks ago. I can't possibly keep up with the KC-46A's seen at Boeing and with 117 still to be delivered, the situation is going to be quite fluid and unless that spotter visits and reports regularly, quite difficult to determine.

I hope so Gary, in which case we only need a water - water model.

Re: JYAI Boeing KC-46A’s

asdro, you won't have seen it yet, but the KC-46A manual explains how to install the current C-17's at Altus. You will need the KC-10A package for your sim version.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

Steve (swp53) e-mailed me this link about the proposal to put some MC-130J's on floats. I'm not sure the undercarriage in the illustration would stand up to much and I'm not sure what the floats would do to the cruise speed, but maybe sometime next year, I might have a prototype model to make if the...

Re: JYAI Boeing KC-46A’s

It was a dispersed B-52 base, Steve, taking aircraft from Fairchild AFB. It closed in 1976 according to Wikki. The crew bunker is still shown on Google Earth, so I added it near the QRA pans when I drew the AFCAD.

Re: East Anglia spotting 2021

What an interesting set of photographs Dan. Thanks for posting them and for an enjoyable 20 minutes this morning. It's good to see the P-47 back in the UK after it was sold to the USA. The Strikemasters are nice to see too. I was watching the tracks of 3 Falcon 20's on FlightRadar24 exercising with ...

Re: JYAI Boeing KC-46A’s

The KC-46A packages (for FS9 and FSX/P3D) are finished and have been sent for inclusion in the Download Hangar. There are 62 KC-46A's in total, based at 7 airfields: Boeing Everett Seattle (KPAE): https://i.imgur.com/mb0o7Ro.jpg Boeing Field Seattle (KBFI): https://i.imgur.com/HU5VmHf.jpg Boeing, Gl...

Re: JYAI KC-10A

The fix posted here for the KC-10A's and the updated zip in the Hangar both remove the inverted commas from the aircraft names, so everything should be good for all sim versions now.

There you go, back on topic.

Re: JYAI KC-10A

The added difficulty is not knowing what you are looking for if the sim is accepting what's been designed and not objecting to anything. That's not just the aircraft.cfg file, but across the board - scenery, terrain, traffic, effects etc. How can the designer identify what might be non-compliant whe...

Re: JYAI KC-10A

A bit of wishful thinking perhaps, Steve. If Microsoft had made it easy to navigate the plethora of data in the SDKs, wrote in a language that amateurs could understand and were more consistent with the syntaxes, we might have designers wall to wall here. We tend to work with what we know works for ...

Re: JYAI KC-10A

Thanks for doing that Steve. I copied the Travis parking codes from the MAIW Travis AFCAD to the KC-10A aircraft.cfg file without adding comma separators, thinking that I was ensuring consistency. No problem was ever encountered in FS9, FSX and in P3Dv5 in doing that. What's the point of writing con...

Re: JYAI KC-10A

I'm pretty sure I have boxed in the reason for the crashes in P3D. Today, I uninstalled my P3Dv4.5.13.32097 and downloaded and installed P3Dv4.5.14.34698. That latest version of 4.5 includes the 2 hot fixes I think that a few people suspected, might be revealing the problem. It took 4 hours to do an...
