Re: E-2 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound

These are the final aircraft - 6 C-2's of VAW=120 and 6 more of VRC-40: https://i.imgur.com/iuHjPbQ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YfsBpVN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TUaqL8M.jpg That makes 56 E-2's and 12 C-2's for the packages. My thanks to Steve for revamping the FDE. I've tested all the scenery that will b...

Re: omani C-130 FS9

They need, preferably, to be converted from the paint master in RGB format Steve. If you convert from an already compressed texture (.dxt or .dds) you compress them twice and degrade the quality.

Re: AI Vehicles

I've no plans to make further AI vehicles after I've finished the Hawkeyes and Greyhounds asdro. I might make more in the future, but not in the coming months. It depends on what I feel like doing at the time.

Re: E-2 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound

Probably not. I'm finding this challenging enough keeping my head around 22 models (11 for FS9 + 11 for FSX/P3Dv4) already.

However, if you want to supply the scenery and flight plans for the 3 sim versions, I'll explore it a bit more.

Re: John's Junk

John, if you are nearly there, it would be good to finish it. No one minds being spoilt for choice. I've just tested Gert's version and his is nicely detailed and works in FS9 and FSX. It should be fine in P3Dv4 too once I have the elevation and flatten sorted. The advantage of yours I think is that...

Re: John's Junk

John, Gert has already sent me some LFRH scenery for FS9 that he has made and I will be checking that out today with the French Hawkeyes. Is your offering for FS9 also, or FSX/P3Dv4?

Re: JYAI H-60, alpha out to remove doors?

I don't think so Chris. Although the exterior skin is single thickness, there's another skin that draws the interior of the cockpit, using a different part of the texture sheet. You might be able to alpha the exterior, but I think you will have a problem with the interior. You would also need to cha...

The Greyhound that I thought would be straight forward, was far from it. However, I think I've got there: https://i.imgur.com/8qxPWyZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9IfNLsR.jpg https://i.imgur.com/fPfKgWH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/dgZ1cjX.jpg These are two examples from VAW-120 and there are a further four m...

Re: Sigonella NAS

Note from my FSX Poseidon manual: You will need John Stinstrom’s scenery of Sigonella. The file is called “licz_js.zip” and is available at Avsim.com.Since I was unable to contact John, I have taken the liberty of revising his AFCAD file, “Sigonella LICZ_ADE9_JS.BGL” a tad in order to accommodate th...

Re: USAF Tail Stripes

Just paint them as they are. In this case, draw an orange band on the fin and add the top and bottom black lines. Then type the text in black or dark grey using the closest font you have.

Giorgio, have you tested a departure and return to each parking spot with that number of aircraft on the deck? Are there any conflicts/collisions?

Re: Prtugal C-130 repaints question

Nearly Jim. The AO layer (Ambient Occlusion) is created in a graphics package (XNormal) by taking the model itself and shining light at it, usually from a semi spherical source over the top of the aircraft. It has the effect of creating shadows, eg as you say, around the wing roots, under the Hstabs...

Re: MCAS Iwankuni SCENERY ISSUE

I installed two FS9 scenery packages, Iwakuni_2016_FS9_2, and Iwakuni 2018 with the following result: The problem I think, is that you are installing an FS9 package into FSX. To make Iwakuni 2018 compatible with FSX you need to add the updated scenery files that are in the JYAI F-35B package. This ...

Thanks Pete, if there is anything that indicates the current paint scheme of VAW-123 (Screwtops) that would be good. The serials according to Scramble are: 164485, 1658121, 165822, 165826, and 165827.

Re: E-2 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound

Thanks for that, Ill explore the French scenery after I've done a bit more work on the Greyhound. I thought it was just the nose that was a different shape, but in fact it needs a whole new fuselage. The parking puzzle at Norfolk and Point Mugu I can guess. It's a pity I haven't been able to paint t...

Re: E-2 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound

So, with 13 aircraft from VAW-120 completed, I spent a little time setting up what I've made at Norfolk and Point Mugu. VAW-120 comprises E-2C and D examples, plus one "D" with a refuelling probe. I think that aircraft transferred from Pax River: https://i.imgur.com/3hLODNl.jpg Norfolk has worked we...

Re: Yet another AI model standard probing as of 2020 on the military point of view

I model in Poly mode and create the triangles point per point. The most masochist way, I know. I build my own 3 views by piecing together dozens of pictures (quite time consuming). That's probably why you can't get the mesh right then for all the reasons I've said. If you are working in polygon mod...
