Re: Aerospatiale Gazelle

Are you missing the rotor disk Miljan, or is it just the angle of the shot?

Re: Aerospatiale Gazelle

These are the SOKO variants with just a temporary base texture applied, prior to delivery to Miljan who will be taking on the painting and set up. There are 4 models: - 4 Gama Missiles - Gama missile racks only - Hera (observation) - Utility https://i.imgur.com/Zn5Pk8a.jpg https://i.imgur.com/BuETJx...

Got it. Hinged along the bottom, but folding inwards.

Re: Nimrod AI project for P3D (and FSX)

Thanks Henk. So it sounds like the doors rotate around the inner surface of the fuselage well.

Re: Nimrod AI project for P3D (and FSX)

Yes indeed, that's a very good job Henk.

Just out of interest and nothing wrong with what you have, but how do the nosewheel doors work on the Nimrod. I've looked at a few photos and drawings and I can't immediately figure it out.

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon

You are obviously getting that information from photographs - just copy the links and paste them here. It would make it so much easier for people to understand what you are after rather than an incoherent block of text.

Will you be making the flight plans for these aircraft?

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon

If you are asking if any of the people here can paint the "olde" Typhoon display scheme for you, you need to specify exactly what scheme you are looking for. A photo, or a link to it, would help.

Re: Aerospatiale Gazelle

Thanks Kev, Changing the engine covers again would mean a fourth sortie through the first 4 LODs of 7 models = 28 changes. It's getting like Groundhog Day - a cycle like that takes about 3 hours. I'm trying to follow the 3-view plans I have but I have no cross sections. I'll have a break from them f...

The problem might be the ground. It is compiled for P3Dv4 I think.

Re: RAF Bruggen OPEN BETA

Correct. When you drag the anti-pushback node to the centre, it has to be kept straight and also not go behind the centre. It's difficult to do as the distance reduces to about nothing. I find it slightly easier to do do in AFX than ADE. If the line isn't straight, the aircraft will return to park a...

Re: Aerospatiale Gazelle

Yes Miljan, I made the cabin/boom joint behind the "dustbin" more circular:

I really wish I had some cross sections on the plans, but alas I haven't.

Re: Aerospatiale Gazelle

A few more polygons help I think Kev:

PS: Making the cabin/boom joint circular also helps the "dustbin" shape too.

Re: Aerospatiale Gazelle

The part between the engine and the gearbox doesn't look right in your model Kev. This is the real thing and the way I have made it: https://i.imgur.com/vUBB8eS.jpg My engine and gearbox could probably do with more polygons to make them rounder, but I've spent 3 hours changing them over to the new s...

Eric/Manni, are you sure the anti-pushback nodes are straight (as best you can)?

Re: Nimrod AI project for P3D (and FSX)

That's exactly what I do Henk. 1024 is absolutely fine in FSX and P3D for AI aircraft. 2048 textures need 4 x the storage space with a consequential increase in download bandwidth. Mipmapping certainly helps to prevent stuttering. I think 2048 textures are fine for specimen paints, but not for whole...

Re: Nimrod AI project for P3D (and FSX)

Nice job with the texture Henk. 2048 textures can cause stuttering when several aircraft all come into view at the same time. You may be fine with Kinloss and St Mawgan, but you might want to test with individual textures before release.

Sorry, but I have to decline this one. Using a distinctly military model for executive use would have little wider appeal as you say. You still haven't answered my question about helicopter overlays.

Re: Aerospatiale Gazelle

Thanks Kev. I don't think I can import an FSDS file to Gmax easily, but I think I'm back on track now, thanks to your help. I did discover the reason for the offset support (the drive shaft), only because, at last, I found a photo of the gearbox from the rear. As you say, it is quite tricky to make,...
