Menno's Retro Corner
During the years I have been missing some aircraft in my sim, and I decided to make them by myself. Now it is time to share some of my work. After the models I made (SR71, CH53 and S3) it is time for some textures. I am working on another retro aircraft model, with scenery, but the project is on hol...

Re: RAF Brüggen: Help needed with ADE Frequencies
The problem is that military airports use different radios then civil aviation. That is why you see frequencies like 284.8 on military airports but not in civil airports. To be able to hear also civil aircraft, military airports also have a civil frequency, and that is often 122.1 In the real world ...

My response to a question about East German units, got me a number of replies asking if I would share my files. I will have to order the files, but then I will upload them to the library. This project started some time ago, after I visited Šiauliai airbase (Lithuania), and was wondering why I never ...

An interesting project, I have been thinking about creating a model myself.
I would like to help you finish it, and have some nice ideas for this model.
PM is inbound

Simmons AAF and Mackall AAF
Simmons AAF and Mackall AAF both could use a make over. I love flying around this area, and for that I also created the many drop zones for Fort Bragg. It can be a busy place with fixed wing and helicopters all doing their thing. I have created: KFBG - Simmons AAF KHFF - Mackall AAF 1FBG - Sicily Dr...

Fort Campbell
Fort Campbell could use a make over, which is what I did. I have created 2 afcads to be used for heicopter operations, to leave the main runway available for fixed wing operations. 1HOP is for the many helicopters from the 101st Airborne Division. 2HOP is for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Re...

Re: AI HELI NOSE GUN XML???
one solution you can use, is too clone the nose gun, and use one as static that shows on the ground, and the second animated for in the air. If you use 1 dummy part with visibility coding on the ground, and connect (make the dummy the parent) the static nose gun to this dummy part, then it will show...

Re: AI S-3B Viking
I am not familiar with smoothing groups. The top and bottom of the wing is one part, that is made smooth. When I started the model, I had one solid wing, later I split it in half for the folding wing animations. After cutting out the flaps and making the outer wing into it's present shape, I got stu...

Re: AI S-3B Viking
Thank you Chris for mentioning the wingtips, I completely overlooked it. It is an easy change to make.
Mike, if you now how to fix the shading of the wings, I would be thrilled. I have been trying to change it for weeks, but no result so far.
