Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Thanks Sean, very helpful. I'm assuming this is for FS9, but do we know how the scenery fares in FSX and P3Dv4 please? Just a quick update with where I am. I'm just adding the last two areas of Schenectady County Airport (I decided to go the whole hog). That should be done today or tomorrow. I then ...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Thanks Sean. What we need to do of course, is be able to direct users to the specific downloads since I can't obviously include the scenery with the LC-130H package.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
The AFCAD is apparently for V5 of the scenery, which I think I have installed, but the two together is a mess. I won't spend more time on it now, but I'll come back shortly and have another go.

Re: Can anyone convert FS2002/CFS2 aircraft to FSX?
You asked the same question Brandon on the 26 September in relation to your FS2002 Spitfire Mk19. I told you about SCASM code incompatibility with FSX SP2 and Steve gave you some sensible advice about not going backwards.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Thanks for those links. I've downloaded and set up the FS9 scenery and it does indeed include the hangar. However, although it is attributed to an author, I just can't find the AFCAD file anywhere. The readme is pretty much gobbledegook and doesn't help. I'm not really inclined to pay 27 Euro for th...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Sean, I found this post that seems to suggest 3 LC-130H's might have been deployed in 2018:
https://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=80377
What scenery do you use for Christchurch and does it include the Hangar that's shown in the photo in the link please?

Something I've been meaning to do for a while now Dale, so your post has prompted me to do it. The kit was uploaded for inclusion in the library a few minutes ago.

Re: Retro JYAI Tornado Repaints for RAF Marham
Just wait a few days Brandon to see if anyone has done the paints for my GR1 model. If you then want to take this on, there are 25 aircraft, including one anniversary scheme. The original PAI paints and the aircraft.txt file for the serial numbers are in my RAF Marham 1993 zip: https://militaryaiwor...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
I've been giving that some thought too Sean. Do you know how many of the 109th AW Ski-birds actually deploy to Christchurch for the "Deep Freeze" season? I'm not sure what to do for flight plans for such a deployment. It looks like a 4000 mile round trip to the Antarctic ice cap from Chris...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Yes that's a possibility. I was in mind to make a fuel tanker too and might still do. I'll also paint the fire truck in Japanese colours for Brent (ambulances are completely different).

Nice job Brandon, but what happened to the transparency in the cockpit and turret Perspex? Did you include the alpha channel?

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Yes indeed, it's Stratton ANG Base, which is part of Schenectady County Airport, New York State. I very much liked the suggestion from Jetrange to make the LC-130H, which is now all done for FS9 and FSX/P3Dv4. I just needed to solve the scenery problem: https://i.imgur.com/CnILQQJ.jpg https://i.imgu...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Definitely a small piece of a bigger project. In fact, the Cessna is just a simple static object. It's really a classic example of "mission creep" of my own making. I decided to make another variant of a previous AI aircraft of mine, but I wasn't happy with any of the available sceneries t...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
Absolutely a much wider plan.
Two clues that might help you get a little closer to what I'm doing. The title of the thread and the position of the datum lines in the Gmax shot, although you would need to understand modelling for the second one. It's also a response to a suggestion.

Teaser time. This is currently what I'm working on:
Brent and Martin know quite a bit more, so if I could ask them not to spill the beans please.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
To change the prop blade, go to the "Detail" layer in the "H" paint kit and outline the straight blade with a freehand selection tool. You can place a safe margin around it. Copy the selection (CTRL C), then go to the same layer in the "J" paint kit and paste the blade ...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials
That's an Interesting subject: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tepper_Aviation Have you found out how many examples Tepper have and whether there is available scenery for Bob Sikes Airport, Florida to base the aircraft. I'm not sure, in view of their suspected operations, where you would flight plan t...

That's a good job Mins. Designing is often a compromise because of limitations in the sim, but that works very well.

Re: Animated Flags (FS9).
The flag in 3DMax seems use "Garment Maker" to create hundreds of points on the flag and "Wind Forces" to produce a very complex animation. Nether of those facilities are available in Gmax and I wouldn't expect them to be in FSDS. Whether the simulator can respond to the animatio...
