V-22 Osprey
This should please 397 people who voted for the fourth most wanted AI aircraft at The Owl’s Nest. Probably the most complicated aircraft I’ve built so far, certainly in terms of animation – the CV-22B and MV-22B Osprey: http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Bitmap512/Osprey/Image%201_zpszy0encvg....

Re: Kawasaki C-1s and EC-1
Larry I've created 27 silver paints. The aircraft are divided into 3 folders for 401st, 402nd and 403rd Hikotai. The allocation of serial numbers to each folder is what Brent has determined from historic photos and whatever lists are available, but to even the balance I have spread the remaining num...

Re: Kawasaki C-1s and EC-1
Larry, I've done half the silver paints and I'll continue with the other half. Brent advises that during the silver era the jets were based at Miho (403 Hikotai), Iruma (402 Hikotai) and Nagoya Komaki (401 Hikotai) with the 001/prototype at Gifu. All of these airfields are available with modern scen...

Re: Mike Cronin
I can do those bits for you Sean, but alternatively if you want, I could help you improve your skill set and show you how to do them yourself. They are not difficult. I'll PM my e-mail address in any case, so you can send me the Gmax files and textures if you want me to do them. When do you think yo...

Re: Mike Cronin
Sean - are the Gmax source files in a finished state - is all the animation working, are all the textures mapped and are all the LODs done? When you say "source files" does that imply more than one model. If so, how many variations are there? What mods are you after? I'll gladly help, but ...

Re: UH-1
Is the crash because FSDS doesn't like the hierarchy or it doesn't like the code you've set up for the hover taxi? To test the latter, change the name of the hover taxi cube to something like c_gear_x (something you know that works) and see if FSDS still objects.

Re: UH-1
You should be linking the fuselage (anim_hover_VTOL) to the hover taxi cube, not the other way round Jake. Which way is causing the problem?

Re: error msgs in FSDS
John's alternative method is exactly what I use to avoid a Boolean operation. It reduces the chance of corruption and keeps the lighting much smoother, especially on a fuselage. You can also use an inward extrude on the faces created by the vertices to make things like wheel wells and cockpits.

Re: error msgs in FSDS
The same thing can happen in Gmax. Booleans can disrupt the mesh and cause these and shading problems. I avoid them like the plague. What I do is make a copy of the file and then delete everything apart from the faulty part. I then detach half the polygons so the part becomes two. I can then test ea...

Re: NBAI Phantom F-4F tilts forward and disappear...
Manfred - is the problem the Dxt10 Preview mode in FSX? If you run FSX in normal mode do you still have the same problems? Dxt10 Preview mode was never a fully developed facility by Microsoft at the time and people do get problems with it. I don't know what DX10 Scenery Fixer is so I don't know what...

Re: NBAI Phantom F-4F tilts forward and disappear...
Manfred, I think the only way I can help is to try and replicate what you are experiencing. I've searched the Download Library and also Avsim with various combinations of: F-4F, JG72 Hopsten and Nick Black, but I can't find a file. Can you give me a link to the zip please or e-mail me the aircraft f...

Re: NBAI Phantom F-4F tilts forward and disappear...
Manfred, if the aircraft is tipping forward, the centre of gravity is probably in the wrong place: it's the first zero in this example aircraft.cfg entry: empty_weight_CG_position=0, 0, 0 // (feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from datum. Try adjusting it by +- 5ft or so and see if that ...

Re: Kawasaki C-1s and EC-1
Since there are only 12 in your list Brent, should I pick another 6 from the list of 31 to give 18 silver plus your special paint schemes. I'm not sure anyone is going to worry about a wrong number or two that far back. I don't want to paint more silver than the modern number because of parking cons...

Re: Kawasaki C-1s and EC-1
I absolutely love the blue paint job Brent. In your list of serials in the 1977-1981 period, 88-1027 and 68-1050 are not in the complete list of 31 aircraft, so I’m not sure what’s right and what’s not. Ignoring the ones that have been written off, do I assume that the 18 C-1s in the list of 31 that...

Re: Kawasaki C-1s and EC-1
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. It was a really nice aircraft to make with no real difficulties. There's a great deal of animation in the models which was fine, but it's such a tedious task to incorporate into the FSX version because each moving part in each LOD needs an animation tag and so...

Kawasaki C-1s and EC-1
If you've seen the teaser in Brent's (clickclickdoh) post in his Japanese Bases topic last week, you may have wondered about the Kawasaki C-1s in his screen shot. They are actually brand new AI aircraft. I've produced 3 models (in both FS9 and FSX native code): the Air Development and Test Command C...

Re: JYAI Kawasaki T-4s
The FSX version of the T-4 package has been sent to the Download Hangar this morning. 195 aircraft plus the Blue Impulse formation all in FSX native code with flight plans for Brent's JASDF bases. The file is called: JYAI_Kawasaki_T-4s_FsX_1.zip http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Bitmap512/Jap...
